My son is 7 months old and we have had a really nice schedule since we came home from the hospital. Usually He waked up at 8am and we go to the sitters then he has naps at 10 and 2, then I pick him up from the sitter and go home we have dinner then a bath and then bed at 8:30 9ish. Well just recently he goes to bed at his normal time but is up in about 45 mins and ready to go! It is like he takes a power nap and is recharged and ready to get up and play. When in reality I am very tired and would like nothing more then to go to bed. Now I have tried the leaving him in the crib but he really starts to scream and I live in an apartment and I can't let him just scream at all hours of the night so I go get him and put him on the floor and he will sit and play till about 11:30 and then he is ready for bed. I am dragging butt at work because I am so tired HELP someone please what should I do to get him back on track?

What can I do next?

Hi,

Both my boys gave up their morning naps between 6-9 months. I turned their morning nap time into snack time, and pushed their afternoon nap up to noon or 12:30pm. It worked for me. I sympathize with your living situation. I was in an apartment too, and also hated to hear them cry.

Both my kids by the time they were a year had outgrown one of their afternoon naps.....so maybe cutting the nap during the day to one 2 hour nap might help.
good luck!

I would move his 10am nap up and give him only 1 nap a day. I hope it works out! Good luck!

Well my only advice for you is that if there any high stress level going on in the home try to work it out. Alot of times a baby can sense that there is a problem and it messes up there daily life schedule. My daughter was nine mouths and her dad went away to boot camp for three mouths and the whole time she never slept. This happens alot believe it or not! Good luck, if you have to to give your self peace of mind ask some one to take him for a night and I bet you he will sleep the whole night for them! And then you can get a night of rest!

Hi M.-
I agree with the other posts. Maybe cut his nap to only one a day. He then may be tired enough to sleep and not want to play at night. Good luck.

I think it is time to move his 10:00 nap time up and only give him one. He is probably ready for that. I hope it helps. I have three children and one of them is a night owl and would stay up forever but then sleep later.
