Problems with Pregnancy

Hello Ladies,

I don't think there is really an answer for my question or if it really is a question. I am supposed to be 8 weeks pregnant but at my appt this week, the baby by u/s is only measuring 5 1/2 weeks. We did the blood test to see if my levels are doubling-they are not doubling but they are increasing-slowly. I had another u/s today but no real change from the first one. We were told we just need to wait to see what our u/s shows next week. There was a thought that we just had miscalculated when I ovulated but that is unlikely and then with the levels not doubling-probably not the case. I have had a miscarriage before and have one child now. Has anyone had this experience and carried baby the baby full term? I am sad to say, I am hoping for a miscarriage because I am afraid of the baby's development. I don't know what the possibilities or probabilities are for this baby. On top of all of this, I am battling an awful cold that is not letting up. I feel like my body doesn't know whether to fight the cold or grow a baby.
Has anyone gone thru anything like this? thanks for any feed back.

What can I do next?

I am so sorry you are not feeling well :( I don't think this is a question that is easy to reply too...I had the same numbers, (and have had 7 miscarriages) and they all were a bum pregnancy. My numbers would go up, but so sloooowww...the pregnancy never took.

Again, I am sorry you are feeling bad :(

*hugs*

I'm so sorry you are going through this. I had a miscarriage at 5 weeks and when they did an ultrasound, they couldn't find the baby. IT was just a matter of time but I miscarried pretty quickly... Good luck to you and I wish you the best...

Sorry you're having such a tough time. I went through the exact same thing recently, and it ended up as a miscarriage.

Your cold may be prolonged because you're pregnant (but it isn't the cause of any problems with your pregnancy). Hope you feel better soon and get the answers you're looking for from the dr.

W. - I think you are putting yourself under undue stress! I didn't realize dr.'s even gave so many ultrasounds so soon!! I don't know anyone else that has had that scenario, and as a result didn't have so much worry on their minds because we just didn't know what was going on from week to week.

Stress is going to cause more problems than anything! I pray that everything turns out well and that you have a beautiful baby, but I recommend declining any further ultrasounds until the normal 18 - 22 week one that most people get to determine sex and get pictures. Why put that burden on yourself if you don't have to?

I found out i was having a miscarriage at nine weeks. The baby was only measuring 6 on the ultra sound. My levels were low so i had more blood work done after 4 days and then again after another 4 which showed my levels were dropping. I personally would not wait for another ultra sound. I would have more blood work done so you know if its progressing or not.

I had the same symptoms/difficulties and ended up miscarrying the pregnancy. My body didn't release it on it's own well so after about a month of bleeding, I had to have a shot to help things along. I wish I could be more encouraging about things, but that wasn't my experience.

I just went through this myself, so I feel your pain. I have to say that while it doesn't look good, as long as your levels are increasing, there is always hope. As soon as they go down, the miscarriage has begun. The waiting and not knowing is the absolute worst part. Surround yourself with the people and things you love and try to distract yourself with simple pleasures, like a manicure or a dinner out. The baby is in God's hands now. I pray for the best possible outcome for you both.
