Problems with My Period

I had a miscarriage the beginning of January. My first period after miscarriage came the 26th of January. It was alittle on the heavy side which didn't surprise me. I was suppose to ovulate today but last night my period came back. Just wondering if anyone else had this problem or if I am abnormal and need to see a doctor come Monday.

What can I do next?

Don't personally know anything about it but it sounds like you are concerned even if you don't know it yet. I'd go with your gut instinct and call your doctor. It never hurts to ask questions, otherwise you never have answers.Sorry for your loss.

Sorry for your loss. I had a miscarriage about 9yrs ago, and I had a DNC b/c I was 8-12wks along and the Dr. wanted to be through down there. It will take a while for your period to get back to normal, just like after a pregnancy. It takes awhile for the pregnancy hormones to go away, and your body to get back on track. They say as long as you aren't having a large amount of clotting, or bleeding through a tampon/pad in an hour, you are more then likely ok. BUT it's always best to talk to your Dr/nurse to be on the safe side. I hope things work out for you!

I had two miscarriages within 5 months. My first couple of periods were really different. I did not have to have the procedure where the Dr. scrapes out the uterus. I remember my first period started with cramps so severe my husband took me to the ER...he picked me up off the bathroom floor. It just felt like a knife going through my abdomen. I do remember I had like three periods in 2 months.

Call your Dr. and ask. It might be nothing, but you never know.

I had the same problem when I miscarried a couple of years ago. You have to remember that you were pregnant, so your cycle may be a bit crazy for while, just like it can be after you deliver. There were months that I would cycle 21 days and the next time would be 45 days. It was frustrating because I kept hoping I was pregnant again. I don't think it's anything to worry about. Just try to stay calm and stress free.

It takes at least 3 months for you body to get back to normal after having a miscarriage. That is why they say to wait 3 months before trying to get pregnant again. I know it is not what anyone wants to hear when they want so badly to be pregnant, I know but it is necessary. I think you are fine and just need to give your body some time to recover. If you continue to have problems then I would give the Dr. a call. Good luck and I'm sorry for you loss.

Hello,Did you see your DR. after your miscarriage? And were you for sure you were pregnant, how far along.Good idea to see your DR. It has only been a month ago so you may not be on track for a while but bleeding heavy can be a sign of an issue.

Sorry to hear about your miscarriage. It can take up to 3 months, sometimes more, for your cycle to get back to normal. Unless your period is very heavy, more than one pad an hour, you do not need to see the Dr. You can always call the nurse if it would make you feel better.

Sounds like you need to see a doctor. You might need a DNC.

I had an mc in Oct 06 and Jan 07. After the one in Jan, I had a regular period, but it started again 5 days later. Then I got pregnant on that cycle. I used progesterone suppositories, just in case and just had a son last month. Weird bleeding is very normal, and you can still get pregnant right away, if you want to.

I'm sorry to hear about the miscarriage. I went through the same thing a year and a half ago. I did the same thing you are doing...I would bleed for a week and then stop for a week and then start bleeding again. This went on for several weeks after I thought I was done bleeding from the miscarriage. My doc said this was normal and that it can take up to six weeks or more to stop bleeding after a miscarriage. Again, I'm sorry this happened.

I'm so sorry to hear that you had a miscarriage, I know how awful they are.... I had a miscarriage 2 years ago and my periods were irregular for about 3 months after, starting and stopping on a whim. My doctor told me that it was completely normal, that it was my body's way of trying to heal itself and return to normal after the trauma of a miscarriage. She also advised us to wait at least 3 months before trying to get pregnant again, and now I have 7 month old twins. I hope this helps

It's the same as after having a baby. You period can be off for a long time. Some people bounce right back and others it takes a bit. If you worried call the OBGYN office and talk to a nurse

L.,
I have had 2 miscarriages, one in 2000 and one in 2007. After both of them my periods were messed up for a couple of months but after that you could set your watch by them. So I think it is your body just trying to get back to "normal".

I had a miscarriage two years ago myself. I remember my period taking a while to normalize but I don't remember it coming back so soon. It is probably fine and your body it just trying to get back to normal. I am sure you could call your OB/GYN and a nurse or doctor to address your concerns.

I did just have my second son. He is now 3 months old. I was so worried about my pregnancy after having a miscarriage but everything turned out fine. Good luck.
