Problems with Fruit Flies.

take a small bowl and cut up some ripe fruit (for us, peaches or plums work best) and then cover the bowl tightly with plastic wrap. Poke some very small holes in the wrap with a fork and put it near the flies. They'll smell the fruit and be able to crawl in and not crawl out. Best of luck!

I agree with the cider vinegar and drop of soap with a plastic cover, dont forget to poke the hole in the middle. I was a chef all my life and thats what we used around our bananas and baked goods.

The hose to the vacuum gets rid of them pretty quick.

I've heard to put a bowl of sugar water, cover it with plastic wrap, poke a few small holes in the plastic. They go for the sugar & can't get out.

The homemade fruit fly traps work fairly well. If you are diligent about keeping after them and just can't seem to get rid of them, then they are breeding somewhere you probably haven't thought of. The one time I had a problem with fruit flies (much more than the occasional one or two hanging around with the fresh fruit) I finally discovered a few weeks later that I had potatoes in the basement that were starting to rot. Once I got that taken care of they were fairly easy to get rid of. Good Luck finding out where they are coming from!

We picked up a Venus Fly Trap at Meijer for the kids (YES! They had Venus Fly Traps at Meijer -- so weird!). It sits near the bananas on my counter and we have not had fruit flies since we got it. It's not scary or hard to take care of either.

Put a small jar of cider vinegar and a drop of soap on the counters in the bathroom and kitchen. Change it daily until you don't see flies anymore. You probably also need to pour bleach down your drain since the eggs usually are laid there for some reason.

Cider vinegar in a small dish placed where ever they are the worst. We had a gnat invasion at work & thats what the bug guy recomended, and it worked..stinky but effective ( and cheap)

put a small glass of apple cider vinegar with a squirt of dish soap in it, on the bathroom counter. cover it in plastic wrap and put a rubber band at the top to keep the plastic wrap tight....then poke several holes in the wrap. you'll be amazed!

i found a fruit fly trap at walmart! it works GREAT!!! it smells like a rotton apple the fluid you put inside of it. i found it by the ant killer, but spray stuff in the cleaning area if i remember right. it looks like an apple in bright orange packaging. good luck

Exterminator here told me to put some bleach down the drains to rid of them.

We've had them pretty bad this year in the kitchen area. I put all my fruit in the fridge.

I use the apple cider vinegar with a drop of dish soap and it works like a charm. I keep a little bowl set up in my kitchen and in my pantry where the garbage cans are.
