I am having a prob with roly-polies coming into the house. Each night for the past week or so we are over run by roly-polies. Has anyone had this problem before? If so, what did you do to get rid of them?

Thanks in advance for the help.

What can I do next?

I would call a lawn and garden place or a pest control place and ask them what they reccomend. I havent ever had this problem but sounds like it would be very aggrivating! Just a thought but that is what i would try because between the 2 types of places they should be able to help u.

K., I use Diatomaceous Earth for insects (including roly polies) around my hostas. I would think you could sprinkle some around your door jamb and deter them. It's made with tiny bits of rock (a simple explanation) that cuts their bodies when they crawl across it. I put mine in an old spice jar that has the holes on top, and just sprinkle it where I need it. When you are handling it, don't get it close enough to your face to breathe it in. You can get it at some garden centers and online. (It's not the kind you use in swimming pools.) I also read somewhere that ants will not cross a chalk line - maybe that applies to roly polies as well. I've not tried it for roly polies, but a chalk line around a pet food bowl will keep the ants away.

Just a bit of info. for you. I worked at a pest control several years ago. Yes they're lots of chemicals you can buy to spray or sprinkle. Most companies use products that contain Borid or some call it boride. Anyway this is found in old fashion laudry detergent, 20 Mule Team Borax. I think you can still buy it anywhere. Just sprinkle it around your house & lawn. Kills lots of bugs. Oh & it will suds up when it rains but it works & does'nt cost a lot.
Good luck. Have a blessed summer.

I just walked outside and was shocked at the sheer numbers of those things! I agree with Amanda. It must be their year. Vaccuum them up.

OMG I have had them before but never like they are this year. Every night as soon as we get home from work we vacume knowing they will be back to visit by the next morning. I was told they like the cold ceramic floors.
My husband got a spray that he sprayed around the outside walls, door frames and window ledges. So far so good. He was at Home depot and asked them about it and the associate took him right to what he needed.
Wish I could tell you the name. I live in Plano and every one I talk to at work says they have them also.
