Problem with My Cuisanart Ice Cream Maker.

My husband and I have a Cuisanart ice cream maker. Although we've had it since early 2002, it's like new since we've rarely used it. We always had great success with it when we did. My husband had a craving for the ice cream over the weekend, so Saturday afternoon he put the freezer bowls in the freezer and as of today (Tuesday, afternoon) they aren't frozen. We've tried in our stand freezer that's in the basement and recently moved to our kitchen freezer with hope that would help. Still nothing. 3 days seems like it should be plenty of time since the book says it should only take between 6 and 24 hours for freezing. Does anyone know if the freezing solution in the bowls go bad after a certain amount of time. Should I replace the bowls (they cost $30, seems like a lot considering the machine plus 2 bowls cost us $50 when we purchased it.)? We've never had an issue before, although it has been some time since we have used it (at least a year).

What can I do next?

The last time you used it did you put it in the dishwasher? I did this and now my bowl will not freeze either. Heat must ruin the solution inside the bowl.

Are they suppose to freeze solid or is the solution supposed to be/stay cold. I have other bowls that have a gel solution that doesn't freeze rock solid but, stays cold. Just curious if they have to be frozen for it to work? I am not familiar.

Cuisinart usually offers life time warranty; I'd look into that first before buying anythin.

The bowls go bad after a while . It is cheaper to buy a new machine .
