I can tell you that I went to a private school from k-10 and then went to a public school, I absolutely truly believe the private school was safer, and teachers were more hands on with the students.
I was wondering if there is a web site that posts the different test scores for Private Catholic Schools. I am trying to decide on a school for my two kids and I wanted to see how they compare.

I don't know of a web site. I send my daughter to St. Helens School. It is on the corner of Western and Augusta. Check out their web site. St. Helen's School was rated one of the top 25 nonpublic schools in Chicago by Chicago Magazine. It is also really affordable. Let me know if you have any questions. I looked at St Mary of the Angels and was not impressed. I also looked at St. John's Berchman which seemed great. These two schools are very expensive and the commitments are huge!
greatschools.net is one I looked over. good luck in your decision.
Check out Covenant Christian School on the corner of Fir Rd. & Day Rd. in Mishawaka. Phone # is ###-###-####. It's a multi-denominational Christian school with Catholics and many other Christian parents. (Like 30+ local churches represented.) Tell them D. from RE/MAX 100 sent you. :-)
I cannot say enough good words about the faculty, etc.!
As a Catholic school teacher, I can tell you that the diocese discourages schools from posting their scores as a recruiting tool. Your best bet is to visit the schools that you are deciding upon and look at how the schools measure up to the public schools in the area.
HI K.,
Before I had kids, I taught in a Catholic School for 8 years. The diocesan policy was to not publish test scores as individual schools, but to record them as a diocese. You could contact an individual school and see what information the principal would give you, but I don't know of a website. Sorry, wish I could be more help.
Hi K.!
I don't live in the city, but what I do know comes from my nieces. They go to St. Juliana's and have had wonderful experiences so far. It is a tight knit community and they are always busy doing something with families and friends - for fun or volunteer work. The only thing that I heard about that is different from Catholic schools in the suburbs is that they grade on a tougher scale. As for a web site, I don't know of any, but keep in mind that test scores aren't always a good indicator. You have to take the school population into consideration too. If you can I would arrange a time to actually visit the school you are considering and bring along a list of questions. Then you can see first hand rather than relying on scores. Good luck with your search!
I know that there is a website you can go to and it is called www.greatschools.net. If i am not mistaken, it tells you all about the school's test scores and everything else. I hope that works.

My 2 kids go to St. Hubert in Hoffmann Estates. We love the parish and school teachers!

I've sent my daughter to 4 schools before choosing a catholic school with the distinction of being a nationally recognized blue ribbon school. Catholic schools have individual scores for each school. They also have a newspaper that they share during this month to promote schools. I've noticed some catholic schools are missions which seems the scores are slightly lower then other schools. Yes, some schools have rigorous grading policiies which prepare students for highly selective high schools. Our daughter did quite well at IJP in flossmore and went on to St Ignatius College Prep where she is doing well.
I think they should have the test scores listed on each of the schools websites but if not try the chicago archidiosese website for a link to schools.

My son went to a Catholic school up until he was in fourth grade. You can go to Indiana Department of Education, there is a way to look at ISTEP scores there. My son now goes to an Edison school in Perry Township and is thriving.
