I am looking for a private school in the Carrollton/Lewisville area. I have visted Carrollton Christian Academy. Does anyone have any feedback on that school seems great!

Prince of Peace is also on my list. Any thoughts on that school?

What can I do next?

If you are still in the market for a great school, consider Explorations Prep in Flower Mound. It is a hands-on science and math school (and also has French, Spanish, music, art and PE). They believe "no child left unchallenged." Happy to provide more information if you want -- we love the school!

T.,

We are in the process of picking a school for our soon to be Kindergartner. I visited CCA, Prestonwood & Prince of Peace. My husband like the smallness of CCA but when I went to Prince of Peace it felt like home. It was so warm. I think they are also academically stronger than CCA. We are applying there.

My daughter attended Prince of Peace for preschool last year and we were very happy with it. Lots of the other preschool parents had older children that attended Prince of Peace and they all loved it too. I also have friends of friends whose children are they and they all love it. I have not met anyone who was unhappy with the school. My daughter goes to public school now only because she started Kindergarten and we live in Richardson with a wonderful neighborhood elementary school, but it was a hard choice. At Prince of Peace they have smaller class sizes and teacher's aides in the classrooms. I do believe it is much stronger academically than some of the others and is growing by leaps and bounds.

The only negative about the school for me is that there is so much concrete - very little grass or nature within sight. This might not bother some people but it bothered me. Fron an aesthetic/environmental standpoint it is not as nice as some, but the buildings themselves are nice on the inside, they are building a new Fine Arts center, and it is a very loving environment.

Both of our kids went to Prince of Peace for preschool and we loved the teachers. We know lots of people that go to Prestonwood Christian Academy and they are all scoring really high on all standardized test. The teachers are good. I think there is a waiting list. Might need to call.

Carrollton Christian is very weak academically. Prince of Peace is a good school and is growing. Prestonwood Christian has many opportunities but academically is NOT strong.Trinity Christian is where both of my kids graduated from. Outstanding school in every way! Kids are very prepared to enter the world after graduation!

I think you'd be very happy at CCA. Prince of Peace is wonderful and also there is a school called Trinity Christian Academy.
American Heritage Academy is wonderful-- however--it will be closing at the end of this school year and will not be open next year.

Have you checked into Lakeland Christian Academy? It's in Lewisville off of 35. I sent my daughter and will be sending my son to preschool there and am very impressed with the school. They use Abeca curriculum which is supposed to be very good.

It may not fit your needs because of it's part-time nature, but I would also check out Coram Deo Academy. They have a campus in Carrollton. Our daughter now attends the Flower Mound campus.

Our daughter has been enrolled in the MDO program at CCA for two years, and will be attending Pre-K at CCA next year. We love the staff and they are really awesome to our daughter - she loves going to school there. Though our experience has been limited to the early childhood development program, we are confident that her experience in the next phase will be just as positive. Many of our friends and neighbors have children who attend and they can't say enough great things about the school and teachers.
