Have you tried asking at fabric stores in your area? They may have business cards of people who offer this, or someone there may know someone who gives lessons.

The Joann's Fabric store near me has a file of people who do different services. If you ask them they will know who does which thing you need.

Contact the local High School and talk to the Home Ec teacher. Look for classes at a local Technical School.

Go to a local mom and pop type fabric shop. They usually have a handle on who sews and who is the kind that can teach sewing.

CONGRATULATIONS for caring enough about this aspect of your daughters education.

Good luck to you and yours.

You might call the local high school and ask the swim team coach for suggestions or the Y to inquire if they offer private lessons, any place that has a pool like a college or junior college could do that to.

I would never trust my life to a stranger that answered an add on some website.

A young woman from my town had a car for sale and the person who came to look at it took it, with her along, for a test drive and they eventually found her body and the car and the man. They ended up making a movie about it. I swear a true story. She just let the wrong person in.

Okay, I just re-read the question and I swear it was a "I want to learn to swim" question, sorry. That must have come off as "Ummm, okay".

Places that sell sewing machines usually have classes for people buying their machines. You might be able to join in.
