No print documents will leave queue to print. I am able to delete them from the queue, but no printing. We originally thought there might be a problem with the printer (as it was rather old) it was an HP deskjet (cant remember number) so we purchased a new HP Officejet 6000. Installed properly, all system checks on both the windows side and the HP side show up good. We have run the windows fix program and it shows no problem with the printer. It is selected as the main printer under printer in the control panel. I have gone threw and restarted the print spooler in administrative tools... all to no avail - still can't print anything. please help!!! am at work, tech guy can't come today, he isn't sure if he even know what is wrong, and the boss wants me to fix it today. if you have any other solutions or things to try please let me know. thanks as always!!!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Just got it fixed - without the computer tech guy :)
so this is going to sound CRAZY... or atleast it did to me! I had to "purge the printer of static electricity"... I was thinking yeah right, this sounds like witch dr stuff for nerds... but apparently, my printer needed purging of static electricity. i had to unplug the printer completely, hold the power button down for 60 seconds, plug the power button back in, wait and then plug the computer cable back in - and viola ~ it printed... 2 days and a huge headache later the printer now works and my boss will be happy :)
thanks for your suggestions!

Is the queue on 'pause'?

Make sure all your settings are correct... on the control panel.
Make sure all connections/cords are plugged in properly.
And yes, make sure the printer is compatible with Windows 7.

Go online and do a Google search... sometimes you have to do an update/drivers for the printer... or get a "patch" for it.... which can be gotten online.
Go to the HP website....

We have the same problem with HP printers every time windows upgrades. You can look for drivers on the internet, but my husband has already searched for one, and he could not find one. You must have gotten an old modle printer that is not compatable wtih windows 7. It stinks, but a new modle printer is all that may work.

It may be that the printer is not compatible with Windows 7. Can you print a test page at all?

You may browse through HP support pages and other forums to see if anyone was able to use that printer with Win 7.

We had the same problem. As it turns out, my husband had downloaded the wrong driver when he installed the printer. He had downloaded the 36-bit and Windows 7 required the larger one (I don't remember the number, but there were only 2 options). Once the larger bit driver was installed, we have had no problems.
