Princess Costumes in Disney

Hi,

I have reservations for Cinderella's Round Table and Chef Mickey's this spring. The cast member I spoke to said the little girls often wear princess costumes. I have one, so it's not a big deal, but I wasn't planning to bring it. Has anyone been to these character meals and does it pay to bring my own costume? We also have an appt at the Bippity Boppity Boutique but I still don't want to have the only kid in Disney who's looks ready for Halloween.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks to all the moms who suggested I bring the princess dress with me. I paid $25 for the one I have and it's a really good quality dress. All the girs were wearing them and my daughter LOVED prancing around Cinderella's Castle in hers. The dresses for sale in Disney were $65 just for the dress (so with accessories it would have run over $100) and the quality was not as good as the one we already have. I am so glad I brought it with and feel as though she really got use out of it. Plus, the pictures are fantastic!

I have two boys, so I've never been to the cinderella round table, but after reading your question I now know why there are so many little girls at Disney wearing their princess costumes. If I were you, I'd bring it. I have a funny feeling most of the little girls at the party will be wearing them!

Bring it.... The little girls are all wearing them (especially to the Princess meals) and if you end up buying a costume at Disney you'll spend an embarrassing amount of money on it. We got one on clearance at Kohl's and stuck it in the suitcase - she'll never know we bought it for $7...

There are MANY young girls that wear their princess costumes at Disney and many that also get their hair done fancy before entering the park. I have a 4 1/2 year old, and while we own way too many princess costumes, I have never let her wear them to the park, b/c I told her the park is for playing not for dress up (we used to live in Southern CA and went to Disney often.) It just seems like it would get uncomfortable and hot in those dresses. But, if you are staying at the resort, she could dress up for the character dining and change for the rest of the park day into more comfortable clothing...

Your daughter will not look like she is ready for Halloween. We just went to Disney this past June and there were many little girls dressed up. You can purchase a costume in any and every store or bring your own. Perhaps you could bring the costume and purchase an accessory to go along with the outfit. There is something magical about getting something from one of the many stores.
