Does anybody have any experience with Kndermusik or Musikgarten classes? I live in the Kansas City metro, staying mostly in the southern area, and am looking for music classes for my three year old daughter. I recently pulled her out of Montessori and the only regret I have is she will not be receiving her regular music lessons anymore. (They were a part of the curriculum.) If you have any advice, I'd really appreciate it. Oh yeah, I am a single working mother, so evening classes are the only ones she could take, Dad has her every other weekend.

What can I do next?

Im not from your area nor do I know anything about the two classes you mention. But it is very smart to keep her in a music class. I had both of my sons in classes at age 4 and they both play piano. It is really good for their brain to learn about music and how to read it, and playing an instrument is a very great outlet for them. Keep up the good work!

I was not terribly impressed by either of those programs for my child, but that does not mean you will not like them. I would also advise that you look into your local parks and rec center they have a lot of wonderful options.

While I'm not from your area I can comment on Kindermusik. My son was in the program from age 13mo - 2.5yo and we both really enjoyed it. The only reason we stopped is b/c he started preschool and they have music there. I think the program/curriculum is a good music/movement foundation. Now my son (4.5yo) is taking piano lessons and still loves music. You can do a free trial class to see what you think before signing up. Hope this helps you some. My best to you!!
