I have looked at a few preschools in North Fort Worth and Keller. Does anyone know anybody that has been to or know anything about Cornerstone Baptist Church/ Heritage Church of Christ/ or Light of the World Preschools? Also, are there any others that I have missed and should check out. I would like something with basic structure - not just free play, and also where they will work on reading and numbers. My daughter will be 5 in December and she already knows her letters/ sounds and numbers - I want her to be pushed a little bit, but get to have fun as well. I am getting a late start on this - and want to check out recommendations since I cannot visit the schools during the school year. Thanks in advance!

What can I do next?

My kids go to Harvest Child Development Center at the Harvest Church in Watauga. We love it. Been there for 6 years now. I have a 10 yr old and 6 yr old, both have gone thru pre-k there. I know they usually have a waiting list so check it out as soon as you can.

Is Arlington too far? If not, you might look at The Flint Academy. It's a small Pre-K through 12th grade Christian school. http://www.flintacademy.com/

I am putting my daughter (age 2) into MDO this August, I visited quite a few early spring. Depends on your price range, Premiere Academy has a great program, pricey though. My final two choices came down to Harvest Baptist (watauga) and Northwood (keller), both have really good programs I was very impressed with both. I am big on structure and was one of the things I was looking for, I was not looking for an enviroment were they run wild, I did not find that in any of these. But they do have fun as well. Harvest has a year around program, were as Northwood goes along with the KISD school calender, off during the summers. I ended up choosing Northwood, I had a lot of great referals, my cousin also happens to be one of the three year old teacher too! I did tour all of these facilities to check out the enviroment for myself, taking my daughter with me to see how she would take to them. I was impressed with all of them!! Good Luck in your search!

I've heard wonderful things about Fellowship Of The Parks Treehouse Preschool. My kids don't attend (they go to full-time daycare) but we go to the church and know several of the teachers - and they're all great ladies!

The program is Tuesday/Thursday, not sure of the hours. They do have a curriculum, it's definately not just play.
The director is Shannon McMahon.
