My daughters preschool class is going to decorate their door in honor of Military Dogs for Veterans Day (or should I say the parents). Anyways I want to know fromm anyone or military families what is the best way to do this, or if anyone has pictures of a military dog we would love to have them to hang on the door. I have emailed several sites that pay tribute to miltary dogs and also our local air force base. Any help or advice would be great. Thanks in advance, we really appriciate it :)

Google it.

Also, I bet you can go on Oriental Trading and find some dog (or people) hats and medals that you can put on stuffed animals.

There is a website here: http://www.uswardogs.org/

all about dogs in the military. I would also suggest contacting your local military or police and see about having a dog come to visit the class. My son's day camp did this last year ( all wrapped in with a little 'stay off drugs' lecture for older kids) and the kids loved it! Our local police even had 'baseball' cards of the dog who came to visit with his stats on the back to pass out to everyone.

There is also a TERRIFIC organization in the SPCA called 'Operation Baghdad Pups' that helps military units who adopt local cats or dogs as mascots get permission to bring their pets home with them when their tour of duty is done. We donated leashes and collars to this group last Christmas. Their website is: http://www.spcai.org/baghdad-pups.html
