S.H.
When I enrolled my daughter, I just had to turn in the application, and pay the activity fee up front. The physical was due on the first day of school.
I filled out the application for enrollment for the school we'd like to enroll my daughter in. I had some questions for the school but they're on winter break. I have to have this application and info to them right after they return in January so I was hoping you guys might know the answers.
When do I pay the registration fee? Is that when I drop the application off or when she's given a spot or when school starts in Sept?
Is the copy of her birth certificate needed when I drop off the application or before she starts in Sept?
The application mentions a birth letter. It sounds familiar (as in, I'm pretty sure I have it) but is that in addition to her birth certificate?
It says a physical is required. Is that required when I submit the application for enrollment or before the semester starts in Sept? She has her yearly doctor's appointment next week so if the info is needed at the time I submit her application I want to be sure I get what I need from the doctor next week.
Thanks for any help you can provide.
P.S. For those of you in the VA Beach, VA area this is a Manor School she'll be attending, if that helps with your answers.

There is probably a fee due now, so I would expect to pay that. A physical generally isn't required until you have your spot secured. I don't think you'd need the birth certificate and letter yet either.
When we applied for my son, all that was due was the reg fee and the basic application. In mid-summer, we had to turn in the first month's tuition, security deposit, results from the physical, immunization records, etc. Schools usually have a specific form for the doctor to sign, so if that's not included in the application paperwork, it's safe to assume they will give it to you later.
When I enrolled my son I just needed to fill out the application and pay the fee. Any other paperwork they needed was written on a piece of paper and highlighted. Some they needed before class started, others were due within 30 days of the class starting. Find out before you take your daughter to her physical if there is any form from the Preschool that will need to be filled out or signed by her Pediatrician so you won't have to go back.
In my experience there is always a fee that goes in with the application which is probably what they call a registration fee. The birth certificate and physical need to be submitted before the first day of school They may be saying that the hospital letter is sufficient, but I doubt it. I think you may need the letter to get a birth certificate from the state if you don't have it yet.
Don't get too hung up on this stuff, submit the application and the fee, as this what they care about teh most. Then call email the school after they return and ask the remaining questions. Or even submit a cover letter with your questions.
When I enrolled my daughter in preschool, all they needed from me right off the bat was the application (the registration fee was waived, but my guess is that's like a deposit that holds the child's spot). Everything else I could get to them later.
