Hey Ladies. I am 11 weeks pregnant and I have come down with a cold. My symptoms are sore throat, congestion, cough, headache, and body aches. I am looking for anything that will help to ease my symptoms that is safe during pregnancy. Any ideas you could give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

What can I do next?

Sounds like the flu from what you describe. If it's been less than 48 hours, call and see if the anti-viral meds are okay to take, although you have to be tested first as the meds aren't real effective this year. If it's been longer than 48 hours, probably all you can do if Tylenol for the aches and pains and Sudafed (not PE) for the stuffiness. You might be able to take Delsym or cough syrup with codeine if the cough is keeping you awake at night. Hope you feel better soon! (I should warn you, the side effects of the anti-viral meds are horrible! After having to do that this year for the sake of our high risk kid, we're all getting the shot next year!)

Here are some things that I used when pregnant and now since I am still breastfeeding.

Humidifier, echinacea, tylenol, chicken broth, anything with oregano in it, OJ & a warm bath.

HTH

I hope you feel better soon.

I had the flu when I was about 9 weeks pregnant and it was not fun.
The congestion from pregnancy on top of it was awful.
Double check with your OBGYN they should have a list of safe products. I know I could take Coricidin D for congestion I think, tylenol for aches and if the cough gets bad ask about Robotussin. My coughing was awful and they gave me permission to only take it at night so I could rest.
Call your Dr though first and get approval.

I think sudafed is okay, but something my doctor said years ago is to take children's cold medicine. The doses are lower and won't harm the fetus.
