I had the same thing both time i was prego. Lots of chicken soup and gatorade.
Make sure you are drinking lots of fluids - you have 50% more blood in your body which is mostly water - so normally you'd need more than the 64oz per day anyway. Eat well - red meat, dark green veggies (if you like sauteed spinach it's a great way to get a ton in your body - just melt a tablespoon butter in a pan, fill it with fresh baby spinach and stir until it is wilted - you don't need to cook it long).
Pedialyte helped when that happened to me. Remember to get lots of extra rest....when you're pregnant, it takes much longer to recover from illnesses. Feel better soon!

Knudsens makes ReCharge, a natural hydrating drink which I love. Your body needs a lot of rest, so keep drinking plenty of fluids and lay low. You don't say if you have children already, however, if you do, consider hiring a babysitter for a couple hours a day until you feel better. When the sitter is there, be invisible--go and rest. I'd also suggest taking walks early in the day when the air and sun are at their coolest...the heat can really take it out of us, but light exercise like walking will help you to regain your energy and always improves one's disposition. (Well, depending on where you walk!)
gatorade and/or pedialyte. you can cut them with half water if that will get you to drink more of them. cranberry juice and water. lots of small snacks throughout the day, nuts, fruits, cheese, etc. (bread, rice, soup if you're body isn't up to the other stuff yet). and most important, rest!!
You need to call your doctor. I will say this, it does take longer to bounce back when you are pregnant so while you are waiting to hear back from your doctor I would listen to your body and get the rest it desires. Hope you are feeling better soon.
You might not be fully better. I see you live in the NYC Metro area. I live in NYC and my whole family has gotten sick with something like you describe, where we got 'better' but didn't really feel like ourselves. None of us were fully better for an entire week. Keep drinking and resting and eating bland foods if that's what you want. You will probably be better soon.
Call your OB! You may need fluids (IV). That can help a lot! Also, sleep and time. But, I would def. call my ob just to let them know and make sure everything is ok. Hope you feel better soon!
i would say lots of rest and fluids!
I went through this and ended up dehydrated and need to go to the ER. I got medication for the vomiting and diarrhea and two bags of fluids. I went through it again when my daughter was a couple months old and breastfeeding. I drank lots of Pedialyte, crackers (still had saltines from my pregnancy), and other bland foods and rested a lot. Take care and hope you feel better soon.
I agree with Lisa, Pedialyte is the best for rehydrating your body. If it is what is best for baby, it is THE BEST for Mommy, but in larger amounts. Make sure you drink it cold and as often as possible.
Hope you feel better soon!
. Dear C., Sorry you are sick while pregnant. It may take a while to get your strength back Take it easy, eat light meals and gradually get back to normal. You may be dehydrated so drink lots of fluids. Grandma Mary
Drink tons of water, gaterade, pedialyte, etc...You could always go to the hospital and they'll pump you full of fluids and monitor the baby, but its an added expensive and inconvenience that is just not needed. Just get some rest and try to drink as much as possible, adding food back as you feel you can handle. Good luck! Hope you feel better soon!
Time and good food!
