My son (17 months) did the same thing the other day. He hit me so hard I thought I was going to puke. But all seems well. I'd only worry if you feel funny. And if you're really worried, call the doc.
Hey Moms!
So today, I was sitting on the couch with my little girl playing. She stood up to try to reach for her cup that was behind the couch, and she fell/plopped down hard on the right side of my big pregnant belly! Has this happened to anyone else? I'm just worried that the trauma dislodged my placenta or something. I can still feel the baby moving and do have a tiny bit of cramping, but maybe I'm psyching myself into feeling the cramps.

I fell off a ladder at 36 weeks pregnant and did a number on my knee ligaments but my daughter was born two weeks later, a perfectly healthy and active baby girl.
It sounds like everything's peachy with your little man, E.. The uterus is padded really well and a pretty safe place to be. (Sometimes makes me wish they could have stayed in there!) God is a genuis!
You need to call your doctor...
Hi E.-
If you can feel the baby moving, it is still there, and probably OK. To make sure, go to your obstetrician, and get checked. You don't mention any bleeding, so that is a very good sign. Hope all is well- S.
I had the same thing happen a month and a half ago. I was only 5 weeks pregnant at the time. My 21 month old (30 pounds)jumped on my belly. I had severe cramps for a day and was terrified that this would cause me to miscarriage. I have to say thankfully we have been to the Dr. twice now (even seen the baby once on an ultra sound)and the baby is completely healthy and I am now 11 weeks. My dr. assured me that everything is fine. Good luck with your pregnancy!
I have not had a child fall hard on my stomach but I did fall down the last two or three steps of stairs. As a precaution though I did go see the dr whether the baby was moving or not. There was nothing wrong with the baby .... now she is 15 and keeping me on my toes big time. LOL
Give your OBGYN a quick call, just to make sure. Your uterus is very well protected. I fell flat on my face and stomach with my 2nd baby about 5 months along, had some cramping but did fine the rest of the pregnancy. He was a healthy 8 lb. 4 oz. full term baby.
good luck. M.
You should call your OB and let him/her know, and they will let you know what to do. It's probably fine, but they may want to monitor you for a little while to make sure that everything is ok for the baby.
When I was six months pregant, I was walking and tripped over a curb (with all of the grace and poise that comes with pregnancy...) and fell belly first into the pavement. Ouch! I didn't have any cramping. But, my OB still had me go in and have a the baby monitered for an hour or so. Everything looked great and we were fine. So, it maybe fine, but if I were you, I would check with your OB, just to be sure.
Been there, done that! LOL. Unless your cramping is severe, there is bloody discharge, or the baby isn't moving, don't worry about it. I see you are expecting at the end of March, so there is plenty of room inside that belly of yours for the baby to get moved around quite a bit. Good Luck!
Put your mind at ease...call your doctor and go have your baby monitored for an hour or so...I fell when I was pregnant and it seems that is standard protocal and it eases your mind...you would have to really fall hard to have the placenta rupture, but why worry!

I too have a 16 month old, and I am 8 months pregnant. My daughter too has gotten on my belly as well. As long as you are not bleeding and still feeling the baby moving, I think that you are fine. They can withstand alot in there!
