Im 35 years old. My husband has had a vasectomy, 5 years ago. He has only been "checked" once to make sure nothing was getting through. I am a week late with my period. I do not have any pregnancy symptoms, other than being a little tired (but that could be all the fresh air we are getting too) I have NEVER been late with my period (other than two times, and they are downstairs watching tv right now :-)) I did take a pregnancy test 3 days ago and it came back negative. Has anybody had experiences like this? Thanks!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

After three negative pregnancy tests, my period finally did start. Im thinking it was just the changes of life. It was just the first time this has happened to me and I wasnt really sure. Thanks for your help!!!!
To the person who made it sound like I was stupid for not taking a pregnancy test, maybe read the WHOLE post next time before commenting :-)

Go out and get another cheap pregnancy test - You'll feel better.

Chances are slim that you are. If you took a p-test when you were already 3-4 days late and it was negative...Then it was most likely correct. But I can tell you that the more you stress about your delinquent period...The longer it will delay.

So why are you "so late"? Probably not what you want to hear - But 35 is this super awesomely magical age where all sorts of lovely thing begin happening. For instance, did you know that at age 35 (statistically speaking):

You can no longer build new bone mass
A pregnancy is called "geriatric pregnancy"

And so a changing period as you age is to be expected.

I'd take another pregnancy test or two.. it is really common to get a false negative on a pregnancy test.

I don't have much else to offer to your question except that - and who knows, maybe you're just late because you're tired or stressed out or (possibly) heading into early onset menopause. That happened to my mom and she got really freaked out at first because she was only 37.

Maybe its nothing, but go buy a few more tests to be sure.

You most likely just had an anovulatory cycle. I wouldn't worry too much yet...

Get blood work done and check for early menopause.

This has happend to me once also. My husband had a vasectomy and I had always been on time with my period also. I totally missed my period two months in a row and took a few pregnancy test and they came back negative. I was very frustrated not knowing. But at the end of the third month I ended up getting my period. For your own sanity I would wait a week and take another test. Good luck!

Only a week late I wouldn't be concerned. The older you get the more your body changes. Wait a few more days and then try another pregnancy test.
