Pregnancy Symptoms, but Neg HPT??

I never thought I would post one of those "Am I pregnant" questions...LOL But I'm so confused, I don't know what else to do. Here's my deal, I was recently on BC pill (Yaz), then stopped early March. Since then we have been using the "pull-out" method. (I know, I know, not effective BC) AF was expected around April 20th. I had light brownish spotting on April 22. Then nothing. I have been stressed out lately, but I have never been late/skipped period from stress in my life, and I've had much worse stress than I'm currently under. This would also be out 2nd child, so I pretty much know what it feels like to be pregnant. I've had very intense and vivid dreams, some morning sickness, bloating, frequent urination, and weirdest of all...what I can only explains as round ligament pain. I know, because I had it my entire 2nd and 3rd trimester with my 1st child. Anytime I stand up too quickly or twist around quickly I get sharp stabbing pain very low in my abdomen. But I've taken 2 HPTs, both negative. (One 1st pee of the AM) What do you ladies think? Should I go to my GYNO for a blood test? I'm afriad I'd go, It would be negative, and she'd think I'm a nut!! :) Should I just wait and see if my next period comes? (Should be in about 2 weeks) Have any of you had neg HPTs after a missed period, but were really pregnant? Thanks in advance!!

What can I do next?

Your symptoms could all be related to your body adjusting to not having the hormones from Yaz in your system anymore. And not getting a period for the first couple of months, or getting light ones, is common after stopping the pill.

I would guess that's all this is... and if it was me, would just wait two weeks to see if your next period comes.

Actually, the pull out method is pretty effective if you do it every single time. It's actually about as effective as condoms. So if you were doing it every time, it's fairly unlikely that you are pregnant. My guess is that it's your body adjusting to getting off the pill combined with the worry that you are pregnant making you notice every little thing.

Of course, you _could_ be pregnant, so err on the side of caution (no x-rays) and wait a week and take another pregnancy test. Good luck, whatever the outcome!

My guess is that your body is just adjusting to you coming off the pill, but your mind is unable to wrap itself around the concept of that and, being that you missed a period, and you started to wonder if you were pregnant and stress over it, then you started to "manifest" the symptoms of pregnancy. It's not all that uncommon. I know myself, if I miss a period and "suddenly" feel hungrier than normal, then I'll find 5 more things that convince me I must be pregnant, but the negative test shows otherwise. If you go 2 months with no period and still the negative HPT, then give your doctor a call to ease your mind with a blood test and to discuss your concerns. Good luck!

Most likely not pregnant, pains you are having probably have something to do with your ovaries maybe a cyst, you wouldn't have morning sickness this ealy unless you have excess hcg and then you would be really, really sick, I learned this with my last, You are probably just getting regulated after going off BC.

If I were you I would wait a week or two, and if you don't get a period in that time... test again. If you still have symptoms and the second test is negative, go to the doctor and get checked out.

You just may not have enough hormones built up in your body yet to produce a "positive" result. But, you could just be having hormone and body fluctuations do to coming off of the birth control and stress.

In the meantime, don't do anything stupid... if you are smoking or drinking- quit... don't take any medications that you are not supposed to... DO take a multivitamin everyday and bulk up on your healthy foods. you know, common sense. That way you won't be kicking yourself if your test in a couple weeks comes back positive!

Your doctor will not (should not) think you are a "nut" if you think you are pregnant, but are not. She will probably be happy that you took control of weird body "symptoms" and paid attention to them, rather than just ignoring them. Since you have been pregnant before- you do know what it feels like, so that is even more reason to be careful!

Good Luck to you and "yours" either way!

I would buy a bunch of HPTs, (dollar store variety are just as reliable as any other...) and take one every morning! LOL! If you still don't have your period in those 2 weeks, I would head in for the blood test.

It sounds like a change in hormones to me. I could be wrong.
I would wait a while and see what happens.
Take good care of yourself and if you miss a period, then take another test.
It's possible to be pregnant and not have enough of the pregnancy hormone show up in your urine, but just coming off of the yaz, what you experienced was most likely a light period.
That's just my opinion, but I would wait a while to see what happens. Easier said than done, I know. Our bodies don't always bounce back to "normal" after hormonal birth control.
You have to remember that these forms of birth control work by "tricking" our bodies into thinking they are pregnant in the first place.

I know it's hard, but I would wait for another test. As long as you are taking care of yourself and doing all the right things, it will be what it will be.

Best wishes.

I'd just wait it out and meanwhile use a better method of protection, unless of course you are ttc. No sense in spending the money on a bunch of sticks or a blood test... if you're preggers and it's meant to be, you'll still be preggers in 2-3 weeks, right? It's not uncommon to have irregular periods after coming off of bc--then again, according to my OB, that is usually the easiest time to get preggers too.

To address your other question... I went off bc last September and didn't have a period. Kept testing every 3 weeks because I still hadn't started, Oct -- neg, Nov -- neg, early Dec -- neg... Christmas day -- pos. Saw the OB in Jan and I was only 7 weeks preggo... so you just never know!
