How did you tell your friends and family you were pregnant? Hubby and I found out we are pregnant with our third child (we have a 5 and 7 year old and thought we were done...God had other plans). All of our family/friends will be shocked sine it has been 5 years since the last one and we said we were done. We would like our boys to help in a he announcement if possible (perhaps on Easter). Any cute ideas?

What can I do next?

what cute ideas given!! Tyler and I were never able to "announce" as we were stationed away from family when we were pregnant. We did the phone call. sigh.

What would I have loved to do? I would have loved to host a dinner party and have people sit at the table with place setting cards that say "Gamma" "Auntie" and so on...to see if they would notice.

CONGRATULATIONS!

What about a picture of your boys with an egg, cracked, beginning to hatch?

welcome to mamapedia!!

Congratulations on your news!!! May you have an easy pregnancy and healthy baby!!

With our first? We were too excited to do anything cute - it had taken us almost 4 years to get pregnant!

With our second (we had a miscarriage in between the two) I wore a T-shirt to my parents out with a baby in the portal. It took them a minute or two and everyone was happy!!

When are you due? If you could do something around the timing - Thanksgiving our table will be even bigger and we're so thankful...

one of my girlfriends made a cake with a bee buzzing on it...stating what will it bee?? a he or she?? that could be your dessert for Easter dinner....

I saw a cute picture with the oldest sibling holding a sign that said, "Been there, done that." The youngest holding a sign that said, "My turn." Dad holding a sign that said, "We're going to be out numbered!" And Mom holding a sign that said, "Should have kept the crib."

A friend of mine took a picture of all of their snow boots lined up with a pair of baby boots. You could do the same with sandals.

Another friend filled Easter eggs with copies of their ultrasound picture and handed them out at Easter dinner.

-have your kids wear tee shirts that say Thing 1, Thing 2 then have the Thing 3 shirt hanging up in the dining room by the food.
-Have the kids wear shirts that say "And baby makes 3".

If you just want to allude to it:
-blue & pink cupcakes for dessert?
-Easy Bake Oven as your centerpiece w/a "bun" inside. Placecard note
next to it that says "Our Bun in the Oven"? Put flowers around it.
-Blue & pink jelly beans in a clear base as the centerpiece.
-Blue & pink helium balloons as your centerpiece. Note attached that says
"Guess What?"
-A baby carriage cake for dessert
-pink & blue pillows everywhere (living room, family room, dining room,
outdoor patio)

Congratulations!

I love when the kids are the ones who break the news :) I've seen some super cute tee shirts that the older siblings wear (similar to what Erica T suggested below). That way they wear the tee shirts to see family and close friends and let them share the news - and then you can post a picture on Facebook or whatever to share the news with the rest of your friends.

When we told our older kids about our last child, we video taped their reactions. My next youngest was unclear about what this all meant. He thought I said I had oatmeal in my tummy - anyway, the reaction was priceless and adorable. So we actually shared the video of our kids' reactions with everyone.

Best wishes for a healthy pregnancy :)

Invite them to dinner and make the announcement. That's what I did. What's funny is that we had just had the dining room wallpapered and they thought that we were having a formal dinner in that room to show off the wallpaper. So funny!
