Hey girl - I have had 3 pregnancies and have had pre-eclampsia each time, with the last one showing protein in my urine at 19 weeks. You should definitely be worried, and get as much rest as you possibly can (if your doctor has not put you on bed rest, s/he really should) - your BP will be lower when you are laying down. I had a home BP monitor that I used a few times during the day with my last pregnancy, and was also on BP meds, which did help the blood pressure, but also made me feel terrible :( you want to do everything you can to keep that BP down and keep that baby in there longer. If you keep showing protein at 300+, they will decide to deliver you early, because with it at that level you are at very high risk for seizures and major damage to your organs. I was put on partial bed rest with my last one at 19 weeks & full bed rest at 31 weeks, she was delivered at 37 weeks, but my high blood pressure resulted in low amniotic fluid for months, and she had a lot of trouble breathing and had to stay in the nicu for 10 days - it was not fun at all (she is doing great now, but wow that was a rough experience). Good luck - get lots of rest - I hope it works out well for you and your precious little one!
sending lots of hugs,
~T.
