Ladies, I am almost 9 weeks pregnant with my thrid baby. The first two pregnancies were really a breeze, this one, and I know there is only one due to the ultrasound, is giving me more grief. I can deal with the daily tiredness and slight nausea but I have been having night sweats 1-2 times a night. I don't wake until I am all wet with sweat. I have looked up info about this and all I can find is info about after the baby is born. Is there anyone else who has had this experience?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you so much! I am happy to know that I am not alone. Good tips on keeping the nightshirt close and the water also. Yes, this is going to be a long, hot summer. Thanks again!!

Great job mom, keep up the good work and continue being persistent in everything you do. You know, there are so many hormonal changes in a woman's body - it'll cause diress, mood changes, and sweating. I recall being pregnant with my 4th child (Joshua) and those long sweaty summers. We lived upstairs in an apartment building and no air-conditioner. I hope you don't live in Texas. I'd take the little ones outside and we'd hose off and I'd just come upstairs and lay down and go to sleep. I now have 6 beautiful children - so much false labor too!! Listen, have fun with this - these years go by so quickly!
Many blessings,

M. G.

I had them the whole way through my pregnancy, and couldn't find any info about them either... I usually just kept a fresh pillow by my bed, and a clean nightshirt on the door of the bathroom so I didn't have to grope around in the dark to clean up. Everything turned out normal for us. Hang in there!

Just letting you know that you are not alone!!!! I am in week 8 of my third pregnancy and am H-O-T all night long. I am really not having "sweats" but I am hot and can't stand it to the point I feel like I'm smothering. I end up bundling up the boys and turning down the heat a little just to survive!!!
Hormones is all I can say explain either. This is going to be one, LONG, HOT summer for us, huh =) Hang in there, that is all I know how to do!!!
GOOD LUCK

I had it bad with both of my girls. My own personal summer! It was horrible. My poor husband nearly started sleeping on the couch perminately. (to be honest when he did it made my bed cooler)

With the first it wasn't so bad because I could crank the AC or turn off the heat and the only one being affected was my hubby...but he would just throw on a hoodie. I would also sleep with a fan on full blast.

With my second however...I had to suffer so I wouldn't freeze my first born! I had only the gentle breeze of the fan to help me out.

The best I can tell you is sleep with as little clothing on as possible and no sheets. If you need the comfort of having something on you like I do, then use only a thin sheet. Get yourself a fan if you don't already have one. New fans tend to be quieter. I had an old one that creeked all night but it was still worth it!

Also, keep a cold glass of water by the bed. Fill it with as much ice as possible then the water. That way as the ice melts it will stay cold longer.

Hope you move from your own personal summer into a brisk fall soon!

I had the same experience on my last pregnancy which was also my 3rd and roughest pregnancy. I slept with the a/c on all the time and froze my kids to death....

I'm also pregnant (due 09/15/08). This is my fourth, but it seems to be a different pregnancy from the others. I have been so much more tired as well. I'll be sometimes walking around in a store, thinking I need to sit down or I might fall over. It seems to help if I eat, but if I eat too much, the tired feeling gets worse. I haven't felt nausea so far, but just occasional upset stomach. I have been extremely moody though. Everything irritates me, especially my husband lately- Poor guy! I haven't had night sweats, but I get extremely cold and then extremely hot really quickly. I just want to say we have to hang in there. Also, symptoms usually change as the pregnancy progresses.

i'm sorry:( i had the same prob w/ my pregnancy. i worked for an OB for 5 yrs so i can say from personal experience and a professional that there isn't much you can do. don't wear socks to be or anything tight. maybe a loose fitting cami or nightgown, keep a cup of ice next to the bed and have some each time you wake. icee's worked for me:) yum. keep a small fan on you, you can keep it at the end of the bed, by your feet so your hubby doesn't get chilled. IMPORTANTLY..... drink a lot of water during the day, all the sweating is going to dehydrate you!!! and make you more nauseaus. again icees from speedway worked for me with nausea and dehydration. try it, i bet you'll be surprized.

Oh goodness, with my third baby, I never slept with the covers on at all and the fan had to be on high!!I didn't do it with my other two as bad as with my third, but it lasted all trimesters with my third! I kept ice water by my bed also!! The good thing is that it goes away! My doc told me it was my hormones. Happy Anniversary!
Best of luck!
