I got pregnat less than two months after mine was removed (it was not intentional. my pregancy went fine and the baby was fine. I asked my doctor if I should be worried about the baby and he said that it was fine. that is what i experienced.
I am concerned on how long after getting my Mirena IUD removed should I wait to try to conceive? I have heard that it takes 2 to 3 normal cycles for the uterus lining to get thick again and if you get pregnant before then it will more than likely result in miscarriage? Can anyone please help me out here? It would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance...

I have heard people say both that you should wait at least one cycle and that you don't have to wait. It's really just up to you. You have a higher chance of miscarriage within the first month, but it's not guaranteed to happen. I personally would suggest trying asap. I took mine out (yes I did it myself) on march 16th of this year and have yet to get pregnant!
Good luck with everything!
Hi, I had Mirena for 2.5 years and had it removed. My doctor said wait 1-2 cycles and then you can try. I did remove my in May and was pregnant in November. Good Luck and Best Wishes!
I'm getting ready tohavemine removed so I'm interested to here responses. I know that when stopping the pill there can be a slightly increased risk of miscarriage so they tell you to usecondoms for two to three months after stopping and start taking your prenatals at that time. I did that before and got pregnant the first month of trying. I'm planning to do the same with the mirena. Best of luck!
Got pregnant within a week of removal. Now have a beautiful baby boy to show for it. :)
I have the Mirena and was told by my doctor that once I had a cycle, conception could be immediately.
Believe it or not, I got pregnant one week after having my Mirena IUD removed (not on purpose). The pregnancy went fine and I had a healthy baby girl. I still would think it would be better to wait though, just to be on the safe side.

I had a Mirena IUD, but my doctor never told me the 2-3 cycles to thicken the uterus lining stuff. I had my IUD removed at the end of March. I had a regular cycle the next week. One in May and one in June. I got pregnant the ovulation cycle after my June period and had no complications at all. Our son was born early, but only 5 weeks and I had no spotting or anything the entire time.
That's just my experience. Your doctor should be able to give you the information you're looking for and address any concerns you have about waiting.
Good Luck!
