Does anyone have experience with a pregnancy less than a year after a c-section? What complications (if any) did you have?

What can I do next?

Hi Becky,

Yes, I became pregnant with my daughter about 5 months after my son was born via c-section (not planned) :-)!! I did not have any sort of complications due to stretching my uterus and belly area so soon. And I did have another c-section with my second pregnancy. Good luck.

Hi Becky!

I was pregnant with my 2nd child 10 months after I had my first c-section, and I am glad to report that I had no complications during my pregnancy. However, my doctor did refuse to try a vaginal birth with my second child since it was so soon after my first. But every doctor is different so you might want to talk to your doctor about that.

Good Luck!

I had two c-sections 15 months apart. First one healed and i was out taking walks with the baby at two weeks. When I was in the hospital for the second the insision zipped back open when they went to take the staples out and I had to stay for a total of 5 days. Baby stayed with me though luckily. Then my husband had to help "dress" the wound for over a month after. It had to be packed with wet gauze and changed twice a day. Not fun at all! I was told before they did the second c-section that they may or may not take out scar tissue and since they didn't that contributed to me not healing properly.

My boys are 19 months apart, so pregnant with the second when the first was about 9 1/2 months old or so. No complications whatsoever with the incisions and all. Would have done a v-bac if the second was not breech as the first was. Doctors saw no problems with doing a v-bac that soon. All went really well and the second c-section healed MUCH faster than the first.

I have two children that are 15 months apart. I got pregnant 6 months after my first child. I had an unexpected C-section with him (everything was fine) and had to have another planned C-section for my second child. Everything came out fine. You should just consult your Ob if you have any major concerns.
Good Luck.
