Only a small percentage of mom's get their breasmilk in that early. Usually it comes when the baby comes. Don't worry.

um, because you don't have a baby! wait 2 months, give birth, and in a few days your milk will come in.

In regards to why you don't have milk yet, everyone who's responded has been dead on: you won't "get" your milk until your baby needs it. Not all pregnant women leak, and leakage is NOT indicative of your milk supply.

Your milk production cycle is triggered by the delivery of your placenta, causing a crash in your hormone levels and a sharp rise in others. This means that the means of delivery doesn't matter (vaginal vs C-section). Your mature milk should come in 3-5 days after delivery.

What you have in your breasts right now is called colostrum, and this is the "yellow gold" that your baby will need in the first 2-3 days of life. Breastfeeding during this period of time is really practice for you and your baby before your mature milk "comes in," and you should breastfeed your baby as often as he/she wants. The more stimulation you get at the breast, the more milk you should produce (and the quicker the mature milk may come).

Your baby's tummy will be the size of a marble during his/her first days, so he/she doesn't need a lot to eat. As baby grows, so should your milk supply. Day 3 it's usually the size of a ping pong ball, and baby's tummy is still only the size of an egg around Day 10.

PLEASE attend a breastfeeding class :) You'll get a lot of information that you never knew was possible and a lot more that will be very helpful to you for as long as you want to breastfeed. I'm a peer counselor with Nursing Mothers Counsel (based in San Mateo), and I definitely recommend our free breastfeeding class, but there are many others that are offered for a charge, including Blosom Birth Center in Palo Alto. NMC holds classes at 2 different locations, 4C's in San Mateo and Lullaby Lane in San Bruno. You can go to our website for more information regarding times and dates at http://www.nursingmothers.org. We are an organization of women who have breastfed and now provide FREE mainly phone consultation and support to women that enbale them to achieve their own breastfeeding goals. We do home visits as well as needed by you, and we provide support for as long as you need it.

I also never leaked before my children were born. I have a small amount of discharge now slightly pregnant with my 3rd child, but I was breastfeeding until September, so I imagine am more likely to have that start sooner. It is not unusual--count your blessings for not needing nursing pads yet! :)

I did not have milk until after the birth of both my babies. Maybe around 9 months I could squeeze out a watery liquid, but I would not call it milk so you are right on track, Set up an appointment with a lactation consultant at your local hospital or birthing center to learn more about breastfeeding and they are great help after your baby is born

This is because you're not supposed to have any yet. You might get a little leakage from your breasts while pregnant, but your breastmilk won't actually come in until a few days after your baby is born. Between your baby's birth and your milk coming in, your body will produce colostrum for your baby to eat. You're fine!

Well, I have had two kids and am currently prego with my third. Never did my milk come in until after the baby was born. I actually haven't heard of it coming in earlier than that.

You also still have no one to feed it to. Nature isn't wasteful so you don't need the breastmilk until your baby is born. In a couple of months you'll have plenty because that's when you'll need it.

well your milk really doesn't come in until you have the baby. I never had any sign of milk until about a few days after I have my babies. But once it came in man did I have a lot! :) So don't worry about it. It's not a sign of any problems and when most woman talk about getting their milk before the baby is born it is more like a few drops of colostrum but not the same as when the actual milk comes in.

It will come in! You probably already have collostrum in and don't know it yet. Sometimes it leaks on its own, but in most cases you may have to squeeze kinda hard to check if its there. Three days after the baby is born, thats when your milk comes in completely. Thats an experience you will never forget ;-)

Breastmilk comes in a few days after you have your baby. And that watery liquid someone else posted about is colostrum. It's a very key part of your baby's nutrition. It has lots of fat and sugar, which your baby will need to regulate his temperature and give him energy after the very tiring experience of being born. You can start expressing some of that near the end of your pregnancy, although there is no need to. It'll be there when the baby is born, and you can start nursing pretty much right away, although most hospitals want you to wait until they check out the baby and make sure he's OK and get you cleaned up and settled. But, you can definitely nurse the baby within 30 min of his birth. In fact, nursing the baby right away helps shrink your uterus, and helps trigger the hormones that will tell your body to start making breastmilk. After the birth, make sure to drink lots of water or juice and eat 3 healthy meals a day to ensure a good milk supply. Your milk will come in usually 36-48 hours after giving birth, although mine took longer. And trust me, you'll know when it comes in! Your boobs will seem to grow and get HUGE right before your eyes! With me, I went to bed with regular boobs, and woke up with giant, hard boobs straining against my t-shirt and squirting everywhere when the baby started to cry! lol!! Anyway, good luck and congrats.

Ericka, as the mother of 5, let me tell you to goon line for Breastfeeding organizations you can join and learn from.
Most women do not get thier milk until it is needed by the baby. Why in the world would you want that leaking now? I used to wet nurse for babies in distress andfound that in an emergancy I could get mymilk in after a few days by the time my 2nd child was born. But before birth it was very close to birth before it came in .
But there are organizations that you OB can tell you about that will help you.
Congradulations on the baby, and you will do fine.
