I recently took a hpt and it was positive! YAY! But, the very next day I went to the ER for very heavy bleeding & clots & cramps...I was told I'm a high rish for miscarriage, they did a Transvag u/s and didn't see anything on it. My levels have gone from 46 to 111 in 24 hours. Well when I went in for a follow up I was pretty much told the chances of my levels doubling were slim to none and they did. I'm still cramping & bleeding lightly but no clots anymore. I feel lightheaded and like I could throw up. My question is, how many other moms have gone through this and what you experience is. I was told not to get my hopes up, but the waiting game sucks! I'd like to read other stories to help pass the time

So What Happened?

Well my last blood test was Thursday & I got the results which was what I expected but prayed weren't comming. My levels dropped to 70. Now its just a wait and see if I already miscarried, which I'm pretty sure I did & have my blood levels rechecked. I do have to say I am pretty upset. But I know it just wasn't meant to be. Tome to focus on losing the weight I've set out to lose & get my son ready for Kindergarten :)

Sorry S.. I know this is hard. My levels were doubling before I started bleeding/cramping. My levels had dropped from 770 to 168. This was on Monday. I was told that I am having a miscarriage.
Try to keep your chin up. You may go on to have a completely normal pregnancy, but it sounds like you may be losing the baby. If you do, I want to be the first to say that I am so sorry for your loss. My sister bled through her pregnancy in the first trimester and went on to have a normal, healthy baby boy. I know it sucks waiting and I wish you the very best. *Hugs*.

I wish I had good news, but sorry. My sister-in-law just miscarried four weeks ago with almost the exact same situation. Her numbers were up after bleeding and cramping. She had progesterone injections, and the bleeding stopped for almost a week. Then, they did an ultrasound and the sac was completely gone.

Wishing the best for you.

I went through this. From about 5 weeks through 6.5 months bleeding on and off. Found out I had a partial placenta previa. I was on bedreset until it cleared up on it's own. I would bleed VERY heavily, end up in the ER and they'd check baby and he'd be fine. Just rest until you find out what's going on.

**Don't worry too much, my lil guy is now 4 months old and healthy as a horse!**

I have not gone through this and don't have any answers. I just wanted to wish you luck and patience. I know when your pregnant waiting is the hardest part, unfortunately there is a lot of it. You are in my thoughts and I pray for the best.

I can tell you that if your HCG level was only 46, it's really early in the pregnancy, so they won't see anything with the ultrasound yet. I'm sure that they have you scheduled for more blood work and another ultrasound soon.
There are many times that women bleed in the beginning of their pregnancy, and we don't usually find out why.
If you do have a miscarriage, please know that there is nothing that you did that caused it, and there's nothing that you can do to prevent it. Most women have a miscarriage and many don't even know it. They often go on to get pregnant again with no problems.
I really hope that everything is OK for you. If it's not, please accept my sympathy.

I found out I was pregnant when I went to the ER for intense vomiting. They did the blood test and told me I was pregnant, to which I said "no, no that can't be right, I already have a baby (14 months at that point). He smiled at me, but when I told them to run the test again, he did it, confirmed the positive and sent me home with an appointment for an ultrasound the next week to find out how far along I was. Somewhere between the finding out and the ultrasound appt I figured out that I really wanted another baby (even though "I already had one") and so when the ultrasound tech said that the fetus looked like it wasn't really attached and I would probably miscarry I was devestated. The next week I started bleeding lightly and the dr put me on bedrest. I spent a week in bed until the bleeding stopped and that whole week I prayed that I could carry the baby, even as I took care of my one year old. As I type this I'm getting ready to take "the baby I didn't even know I wanted" to her last day of preschool. Everything turned out as it was supposed to. Good Luck!

Last year I was preggers with my third. I was told my levels did not look that good but to wait it out. Then I started spotting. After a slew of transvag u/s I was told that the baby wasn't growing as much as it should. Then I started bleeding (I was 10 weeks @ this point). At the hospital I had another transvag and they said they didn't see any bleeding coming from where the baby was. I was so relieved! But then I had to go back to my doctor a few days later. There was still a heartbeat and the baby was even moving a little. However it looked as though the embryotic sac was smaller. I was sent home and but on bedrest the whole weekend and had to go back the following Monday. My doc told me not to expect a happy ending.

Unfortunately on that Monday there was no heartbeat, my baby died and I had to have a DNC.

Probably not the story that you were hoping for but I figured if things turn out well for you that you would appreciate your little blessing that much more.

I wish you all the best during this very difficult time. I know how hard it is to just "wait and see." It's AGONIZING! You can read some of my posts on it if you want to. I wrote them in June of 2009.

Good luck and I'll be praying for you!
