Hi Ladies! This is my first time posting on here. I love reading your posts and getting ideas/advice, etc from you! I'm hoping to get some preschool recommendations. My son will be 3 on March 27th 2010 and I want to be prepared for him to enter preschool in september. We live in glenolden (at the border of aldan) and I work in Springfield so I'd be looking for a place close by to either. Does anyone know of a fantastic preschool for my little guy? Also, i'd love info (price, programs, etc) if you have it.

What can I do next?

Hello. I recommend St. Stephens on
Baltimore Pike in Clifton Heights. My children did not attend this school but the teachers they had now teach here.

Mrs. Zappasodi and Mrs. Biondi are the two women who teach the preschool and they are wonderful. The children do the usual learning the alphabet and art projects (some of these I still have and my kids are 10), but they also will put on plays at Christmas and sing songs for the parents at other times of the year.

My kids are straight A students and I think this is in part due to the great start they got here.

I don't know the cost since its been a long time since my kids attended. I suggest you call them and arrange a visit.
I think you will be very pleased with what you find.

This is a very positive environment for your children and they will love it.

I have sent neighbors and friends to these women and they in turn are now sending their neighbors and friends.

Good luck !!!!

Our local highschool had a program. All four of my daughters loved it. Maybe you could see if yours offers it? It is very inexpensive and they have such creative ideas with the kids. At the end they put together a really cute graduation. It is only 3 days a week for about 2 hours (if i remember correctly). Good luck in your search...it is such a cute age :)

Both our boys attended the preschool at Covenent United Methodist church at the corner of Springfield and Saxer in Springfield. It was affordable and the staff is great. It's not such a great fit if you need a more daycare-like schedule, but definitely worth checking out.

Today's Child Learning Center at 542 Wesley Road in Springfield has a great program and very affordable rates. The meals and snacks are also included. They are a Keystone Stars site and have friendly and qualified staff. Their website is www.todayschild.us. Good Luck!

My boys went to Lane Montessori in Broomall on 320 by the Marple Newtown Library. The staff are wonderful and I'm a big believer in Montessori. They learn and play and go out in the snow all that good stuff. It is more expensive than regular preschool, but we couldn't be happier. We pay about $500/mo for 4 hrs a day. They are also a day care so they are rarely closed. During Christmas vacation they still provide day care (for no extra cost), although they don't do a school session, it is just open play and songs etc. Let me know if you'd like more details.
