This is my son's third year at The Boyd School, a Montessori school. He loves going to school and it is amazing what the children there can do. He began reading at 3 1/2 years old!
I am looking for Pre-school recommendations for a 3 yr old boy in the Ashburn VA area. tia

Both of my children went to The Ashburn Children Center on Ashburn Blvd. I loved the philosophy of the center itself. It was reasonably priced too.
My daughter currently goes to HOPE, and she loves it there. I'm happy with the teachers and the program, and plan on sending my 2 year old when she's old enough.
Montessori at Belmont Greene was a great place for my kids. Mrs. Williams was a great teacher and other parents sing the praises of the other teachers.
We are in our first year at the Montessori Academy at Belmont Greene. We are thrilled with the school and are big fans of Montessori education in general. Let me know if you would like to discuss. GOod luck.
My daughter loves her preschool. It is in our church, and I know we have an open house soon. It is Celebration Preschool on Ashburn Rd. It is a ministry of the Presbyterian church.
The ones I've consistently heard good things about are WIllow Montessori, Golden Pond, HOPE and St Davids.
Good luck!

I went to the Mom's Club Preschool Forum at Mills Rec Center in January. If you haven't heard about it, all the speakers are moms who talk about their personal experiences with their respective preschools.
My son will be 2.5 in the fall, and I was really impressed with all that I heard about Golden Pond in Ashburn (behind the Bloom, formerly Food Lion). I went to their open house and that sealed the deal for me. I filled out the application when I got home and hand delivered it that afternoon. The 2.5 year olds do not have to be potty-trained, but the 3.5 year olds do. They have 2- and 3-day programs for those ages, and the 3+ year olds are eligible for the lunch bunch, where they eat lunch at stay until around 1:30 (preschool day ends at 11:45 I believe).
I've heard good things about Montessori schools in general, though not the specific one mentioned in previous posts, but they are much more expensive due to the Montessori training each teacher must undergo. Also, I think the only option for Montessori schools is 5 days a week, and the children must be potty-trained.
Here's Golden Pond's website: http://www.goldenpondschool.com/
