Pre-K School for Next Year

I am looking for a Pre-K School in the Duluth area that is still accepting applications for 2008-2009. I don't have a lot of money to spend so a school that has financial aid or is a little cheaper would be best. My daughter really needs to go to prepare for Kindergarden in fall of 2009. I would prefer her to go part-time if possible. I'd appreciate any suggestions.

What can I do next?

Hey there A.! There is a church on Bell Road and Peachtree Parkway called The Church of the Hills. They have a fantastic preschool program. I would definitely check them out.

Best wishes with finding a preschool! Warmly - J.

I thought Pre-K is free for everyone, part of our President's "no child left behind" campaign.

I don't know where you are in Duluth, but the Sunshine House in Norcross should still be accepting kids for the fall's Ga Pre-K program. I have a son in the program now and am extremely happy with it. Definately check out the Sunshine House and any other GA Pre-K providers near you. My older son also used the Ga Pre-K program to get ready for Kindergarten and I was happy with that 2 years ago, but I am seeing a very nice improvement in the program and highly recommend it. Hope this helps!

There are many day care centers that have the Georgia pre-k program and you only pay for food - about $20 a week for lunch. Discovery Point, Kids r Kids are a few that have good programs. They are long days but that will prepare your daughter for the hours of Kindergarten. Good Luck!

Have you thought about the United Methodist Church programs? They do teach some Christian concepts, but it is mostly secular. Our daughter goes to the Duluth First United Methodist Christian Beginnings program even though we are not Methodist (although we are Christian). She also attended a similar program when we lived in Tucker, and we like them both. Just look for the nearest Methodist church in the phone book and ask if they have an accredited program. The cost is affordable and I think it's usually a half-day with small class sizes.
