I went to early registration for the Bixby North Pre-K program, but haven't heard anything since. It was a confusing time, and I didn't get all the appropriate information. I don't know when the classes meet, when to expect them to tell me whether my kid is in morning or afternoon class or whether there is an after-school program my child could go to. I've tried calling, but get a machine. I've left messages, but haven't heard anything yet. I really need to know what her school schedule will be so my husband and I can coordinate my work schedule, his school schedule and find a daycare provider if necessary. Anyone know anything about how it normally works?
Well... I gave up and called the main number and got the times the morning and afternoon classes meet, but was told that the offices are closed until July 28, so I guess I won't get any information until RIGHT before school starts. This SUCKS, because I can't set up before or after-school care until I know when my daughter will be in class! I'll only need it for about 4 hours, but I need to know WHICH 4 hours! My husband can't enroll in his schooling until we work all this out, so I guess he's going to have to wait another semester to start (he can't start late). Why can't anything ever be easy? (okay... I'm done whining. Thanks for the responses!)
It was like that last year for us in Jenks.... a week or two before school starts we got a card in the mail telling us the time and location and a school supply list. It was frustrating for me too. I think it could be done better.
Here is the little bit I do know. Pre-K while offered is not required to be provided. Bixby North is a VERY popular and FULL school. Depending on when you registered you may not have a spot. It is only required to be offered on a space available basis. Same for after school care. I would call the Bixby schools service center. there is usually staff at the service centers year round but not always at the school. I would also be looking for both after school care as well as an alternative to pre-k if you need all day care. Good Luck, welcome to Tulsa

I work for a public school. I don't know how Bixby works, but most public schools have an enrollment office that is open all summer. Find out if Bixby has one. If so go down there in person and see if they will pull up your enrollment forms. Fing out who the principal is going to be for the building your child will be in. Let them know why you need to know now whither morning or afternoon and you can probably find out what you need. Good luck.
