I am in search of tips for potty training my toddler. I have read all about readiness, etc. and I am sure that she is ready to begin. I would really like to hear what worked for you and what did not work. Thanks!

What can I do next?

Hi A.. Once I decided to do it I set aside a few days that I could totally focus on it. I took my daughter to the potty every 20 minutes or so. I let her wear a pullup. By the end of the 3 days she was trained. She did have accidents at night though for awhile. Good Luck!

I know this sounds really bizarre, but our now 5 year old daughter would only go on the toilet IF she didn't have pants/diaper, etc. on her bottom. The whole time she only had 1 accident. Now the same is working for our just turned 2 year old son. He will go right through underware, pants, pull-up, etc., but he ALWAYS goes on his little toilet w/o pants, etc. on. And, the goes completely on his own. Now I have to transition him to go on the toilet WITH clothes on. Hope this helps.

Hi A.,
We were hopeful and started early. It didn't work. We did give jelly bellies each time he peeed in the potty. That was motivational for him. We had also tried stickers, that worked for awhile. I would like to talk to you more about Grad School.

What worked for me was letting my daughter walk around with a t shirt on once we got home. No diaper or pull up and when she had to go she would hold herself, I would ask if she had to potty and she would say yes. My mom said she did that when I was younger as well..
