Potty Training Question

Hi,

Out daughter has hit the ground running with potty training...we did the naked from the waist down route last week and it appears to have worked like a charm so far. I was caught off guard when she asked to use the bathroom at Costco this week. She did great but was confused as to why they didn't have a "little seat" to go on the big potty. When you go in public, what do you do for seat covers? The paper ones (if available) are not the most desireable option...are there portable mini-seats like the training seats we use at home? I want her to be as comfortable as possible when we're out and about so we keep the great momentum. She's making me look really good and I don't want to screw that up...ha ha!

I have a "fold and Go" potty travel seat. It folds up into a little pouch which fits nicely into my purse. (granted not a small purse, but a big mom purse with room left for snacks etc...) I don't remember where I got it, or even who makes them but it's covered with sesame street characters. I've even put it into my dishwasher for cleaning on the days I clean my Dyson vacuum. Im sure you can find it or something similar ar babies r us, or target. if not try dollor stores and drug stores. They usually have these kitchy items.

We have the sesame street folding one from babies r us, it works great on public potties. Her butt doesnt touch anything but your folding seat.

We had a portable child seat that folded up into fourths (so it wasn't too big to carry around with us). Its called a Cushie Traveler by Mommy's Helper. I ordered it online from babycenter.com.

Honestly we didn't use it very long. Eventually, I would just help her up to the big potty and helped her stay steady. Good luck! Sounds like she is doing great!

I have one that folds up. Pretty simple, but small to carry in your bag. I think I got it at One Step Ahead or the Right Start

For this dilema, I found a "folding" potty ____@____.com had sponge-bob on it, and it folded in fours and easy to transport in the diaper bag.

Hi,
Look at Leapsandbounds.com and click on the potty training part. They sell little folding seats that go over the real toilet seats for about $10. I haven't used them, but have thought about buying one.

Hi N.,

There is a portable, folding potty seat that fits on the big potties. We have a Sesame Street one and I got it at Babies r Us. You might be able to go to amazon.com to find one, too. Happy Potty Training!

I carry a little Lysol in my purse and while my son is getting his pants down I clean the seat. We never used a seat with him, he just spreads his legs and kind of straddles the seat. Maybe you should try doing it at home a few times so it doesn't confuse her.
