Potty Training Children Spread Poop ALL over the Walls and Mattress

My 3 and a half year old pooped his undies ... didn't tell me, just took his pants off. He and his sister spread it all over her mattress and the walls; in a few spots, it looks like they just took a ball of poop and smashed it against the wall; I was able to get some off with some clorox wipes, but I can't get it off of the mattress or the window sill or the other section of wall. It's going to harden soon, and I really don't want to spend the rest of the day smelling it. If anyone has any ideas, I would be really grateful to hear them.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I have the worst problem when it comes to a lot of cleaners; if it has too harsh of a smell, I can't use them because I can't breathe, even if I have windows open. I got lucky: a friend of a friend cleans houses for 10/hour ... he came yesterday and used various types of cleaners and bleach water and cleaned the walls, window sill and mattress for me; took him over an hour ... on top of that, he cleaned my kitchen and dining room. I'm still going to have to prime and paint, but at least I don't need to scrape it off. Clothes and blankets came clean, thankfully. :laughs: I hope they stop doing this because I made them pick up everything that wasn't bedding related and throw it away (including the new cars I had just bought for him for behaving when we went on our walk this morning) ... hopefully that will help them realize it isn't funny when you upset mommy. They are also going to be w/o unhealthy snacks for the rest of the week (until next Friday) ... no popcorn, chips, cookies, etc. Thanks for all of the advice.

The only think I can say is Whipies, they are good for everything!! It's also nice to hear that my twins are not the only ones that do that kind of thing. I thought that I was alone for along time with the things that they have done. It's nice to know that I'm not. And you aren't either, my twins have done some crazy stuff with poop as well. Good luck!

Hello H.,,,I'm a grandmother of 20 plus. I could be a great-Grandmother by know but not sure. Anyway, I use something call "AWESOME". It will even clean stains out of the carpet. My grandson and his mom was useing a spray glue and got it on my carpet, well I tryed everything nothing was taking it out. So, I tryed the Awesome and it came right out all of it came out. I've used it on relly bad left over grease, the awesome took it off. You can get Awesome at The Family Dollar Store or Dollar general. I think you can get it just about anywhere anymore. We had to pull our refrigerator out the other night and you could see where I could not clean unless the fridge was pulled out. I sprayed the grease just above it and wiped it off. I hope I helped you on that. As far as your kids spreading the poop. Don't feel bad my kids did it also. I think all kids do that at one point or another. Take Care and I hope I helped.

I was gonna suggest a fan blowing on it and a scraper... Heck, it comes off easier after its dried and drying it faster helps with the smell. lol (I grew up on a farm and had to deal with lots of poop all the time) Just not typically human or on bedroom walls. :-)
I'm happy that you got it figured out!!!

You might need to use an actual bucket mixture of bleach and water. Make it pretty strong and then air the room out afterwards. On stubborn spots, sponge it on and let sit for a minute before you start scubbing. Vinegar and water might work too, and again, you might need to let it set for awhile, especially to get rid of that smell. Worse case, you might just have to scrub the heck out of that wall and then repaint. For the mattress, you could try a super hot bucket of water with laundry detergent and a little bleach in it. I am so sorry :(

Children do the darndest things, don't they? Yuk! They sound very creative!

I'd go for comet cleanser or fantastic or 409 and stuff like that. Comet is abrasive and has bleach in it which is good for the germs. A scrub brush or old rough washcloth or scrubby sponge will be needed. You can also try steam (haul a boiling teakettle in there and keep the kids out of the way). Steam even gets wallpaper off!

Good luck! My daughter did this all over her crib bars, mattress, and the wall over the crib once during a supposed nap. She's a doctor now - very curious mind! She also made concoctions in my blender while I was busy elsewhere, sometimes forgetting to put the lid on. You can only imagine the mess! Of course, the poop was the most disgusting!

Did you try putting a damp cloth on it for a while to "soften" the poo and then try cleaning it up?
On a side note if I were in that situation I would have the offending child/ren help with the clean up!
Good Luck

I would try Scrubbing Bubbles Antibacterial bathroom cleaner, let it sit, and wipe. If that doesn't do the trick, Target carries a product called Urine B Gone that works well too.

Sorry...I know how frustrating this can be.
