Help!! My son is 3 1/2 years old, and he will not potty train.. NO INTEREST at all.. I have tried everythng I know to do.... He just simply refuses to go in the potty for pee or other! I have gotten over the fact my first son did at 3, because I know all children are unique and different.. plus we just can't compare the two on how fast one learns to do things vs their older siblings.. It never works. We are going into Spring and summer and I would love for him to be out of diapers completely... He sits on it, so I know he knows how, I have tried running water, letting him drink water, plus our potty sings a congraulatory song when done.. I have even bought big boy underwear.. I'm just at witts end!

What can I do next?

It just really sounds like he's not ready. And I don't think that January 15th really qualifies as "spring"! LOL Leave him alone and when HE show interest--try again.

My son was like that, and at that age about.

We just kept a potty chair out wherever he was. We didn't push or force. We'd leave his bottom naked.
Then one day, ON his own... he started to go. Pee.
On his own.
He was ready....

We NEVER used bribes or treats or toys to egg him on. Otherwise, they will only expect the 'treat'... and then that is another headache... to get rid of.

A kid, will do it when they are ready.

I think he's just not ready! Maybe table it for awhile, act like you could care less, just use diapers, never mention it...he will eventually decide enough is enough, and start to associate diapers with babies. Hang in there!

Try looking at a book or putting him on backwords and letting him play with cars tell he gose.. Thats what worked for me with my son or takeing a hair dryer on low and doing it over his tummy that works to just tell he gets the feeling of going
