Ok, so my daughter was potty trained about a month or two after her 2nd birthday, which was in June. She does awsome during the day and when we are out and about, and she stays dry through her nap, but at night I put a pull up on her and then she is wet in the morning. How do I get her to stay dry during the night. I always make her go to the bathroom before she goes to bed. What should I do to get her to stay dty through the night? Thanks

What can I do next?

you cannot teach her to stay dry at night.. it is a developmental thing.

One day her brain will be ready to keep her dry at night.. my duaghter is almost 4 and is wet every night.

she is also wet most naps..

she is only 2... she will be dry when she is ready..

Night time dryness can take a lot longer than daytime. My boys were both daytime trained by age two but at 4 and 6 they still need to be put on the toilet when I go to bed to get them through the night. They don't even wake up, I just put them on and tell them to go and they do. Good luck.

Hi B. -

We used to get our daughter 'up' before we went to bed to go to the bathroom. We'd just take her into the bathroom - most of the time she was 1/2 asleep, put her on the toilet had told her to go. That was usually enough to help her make it through the night.

Hope this helps.

cut the fluids off between 7 and 8pm. and try to get her up once or twice a night. hopefully that will help but you know how that goes. and one day you look up and she may do it on her own. my son did. oh yeah keep night lights hany just in case she's scared of the dark. Good Luck!

It just takes more time. I don't think there is much more that you can do. Her little body might just need to mature more. I think it is very common for night time dryness to take months longer than daytime dryness. She might not be completly dry at night until age 3 or so. You can cut off fluids before bedtime, that may help. As far as waking her up, I personally wouldn't bother. If her body is not ready, then it just creats a work pattern for you to follow every night. Is she peeing out of the pull up? If so, you can buy nighttime diapers that will hold much more. Make sure that if she does wake up to go, that she has nightlights or a flashlight to lead the way to the potty, or she could just wake you up. I think 2 yrs old is a little young to get up at night by herself and wander the house to go to the potty, so I would want her to get me up anyway. Good Luck and don't stress, she'll be all grown up before you know it.
