Our daughter is 2-1/2 years old. She has been in panties for about 2 weeks solid (day and night). In the last 2-3 days she keeps saying she needs to go pee pee....every 3 minutes...and I'm not exaggerating!!!! Is this normal? Most of the time she has a trickle of pee but the other times there is nothing. Any advice?!?!?!?
Thanks to everyone!!! Turns out she did have a UTI!!! Do she is on antibiotics. She had not mentioned any pain until I asked her about it so the UTI didn't even cross my mind. I went ahead and got a small potty so that she could just sit on it most of the time while watching a movie or whatever and that has helped. She really prefers the big potty so she is anxiously awaiting getting better...as am I!!!
Sounds like she has a bladder infection. - Take her to see her pedatrician - if she does have an infection - she'll need antibotics to get rid of it.
My daughter, 2 1/5 as well does the same thing. I think she is just excited about the new big girl responsibility.
she may have a bladder infection or urinary tract infection(UTI). my daughter is prone to have them and it took us a while to figure it out. when you go to the doc it is intersting process getting a urine sample from a 2 yr old. lol .. good luck hope this helps
Very normal, although it can be exasperating! But go with it . . . if you start shutting her down when she says she has to go, you risk backtracking. My eldest daughter was very much as you describe your daughter. We would go to a store and she'd have to pee. Five minutes later, she would have to go again! I think they are still so new with reading the signs that they play it safe, rather than sorry. It will pass once she becomes more experienced.
LOL Oh yeah! It is normal. My little girl did that as well, I think that she was just excited about the big girl panties and the whole action of he being in control. Yeah, it can get annoying, but this to shall pass.
Well I have two boys and they both did that when we were potty training so I'm sure it's normal. In fact it got to the point with my youngest son that I just brought the potty out of the bathroom and closer to the front of the house so he could just go to it when he needed or should I say wanted to but that's a phase and it'll pass.
make sure she is not having any urine infections. not to scare you but frequency in urination is a sign of urine/bladder infections.give a call to your baby's doctor. just to make sure....
If you're praising her for going potty (which you probably are, since she's just been at it for about 2 weeks), she may be "needing" to go every 3 minutes because she enjoys the praise. Try setting the time for just a little more than that (maybe 5 minutes) and teach her that it's time to go potty when the timer goes off. As soon as she understands that, you can start spacing out the times ... maybe go to 7 minutes, then 10, then 15, etc.
I would make sure there's no urinary tract infection first. Those can be QUITE uncomfortable, and waiting would be the wrong thing to do in that case.

She could have a urinary tract Infection. That often causes frequency. she may be feeling the pressure. My daughter used to get UTI when she took too many bubble baths. the "soap" can cause irritation in litle girls. You probably want to call her Doctor if it keeps up

I have been told that this is normal for little kids that are getting potty trained. My little boy did this too. I thought I was going to nuts along with my 2 step-sons and husband.Finally the times started to get longer and longer between having to go pee-pee. Hang in there!!!
may be a UTI, that is what it feels like you have to go every second.... just a thought :) good luck

My daughter did the exact same thing... same age and everything. I think she was excited about mastering a new skill, and of course the attention we were giving her. She did it for about a week solid then it was back to normal. Good luck!
Keep an eye on her for a UTI. Is she expressing pain? Maybe she's not getting as clean when she wipes as when she was in diapers.
Otherwise, I'd just say it's a phase. My son could control himself so well he'd pee on the potty and then pee in his pants 5 minutes later.
Perhaps she has a urinary tract infection? UTIs give you the sensation of having to go frequently, though little comes out. If you suspect a UTI, your pediatrician could easily diagnose it and get her on the road to recovery. Good luck.
When I was little I would get UTIs I couldn't have bubble baths and I could only wear white cotton panties. I hope she feels better UTIs make you feel so uncomfortable.
This is totally normal when potty training. Let her go as much as she needs to. If it keeps up then call your doctor.
Sounds like she has a urinary tract infection. VERY common in girls... they get fecal matter in the V- Jay Jay area when they wipe and it causes infection. I would clal your dr and get some medicine...and teach her to wipe from front to back and not back to front!

Sounds like a UTI, take her to the Dr., or start her on cranberry juice and lots of water, and see if it clears itself up, but if it has gone on too long, she may need to be on antibiotics.
