I also had the same problem. I think all mom's go through this. I didn't force my child. I let him decide. Of course you are always there asking if he has to go and the usual but I didn't do anything to make him go. One day he just went with no accidents on his own. I am happy to say that it seemed to have happened over night. Your child has to want to do it. My son is 3 and a half years old and he has been potty trained since May 15. He will be 4 in November. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink. Always expect some accidents too. Sometimes they can't help it. If they are too involved in something then they won't want to stop to go. My son was another one of those naked potty training kids! He hated the tighty whities! He instead opted to be like Daddy, of course, and wear the boxers and boxer briefs. I think it's because it gives them a nakey feeling or something, LOL! Good Luck!

L. be consistant. Put underwear(tighty whites) on him and do not use the pull ups at all. This confuses him into thinking he has a diaper on and that it is okay not to go to the potty. Last, when he has an accident don't clean him right away, ask him what happened and he will soon start to wiggle because he doesn't want to be dirty and this will help him to remember if I don't want to be dirty I better get to the potty. I had the same experience with our oldest son and just like Brandy F. said happened with her, it finally clicked with him one day and the rest was history. Unfortunately, also like Brandy F., we didn't do anything spectacular to make it happen. It just made me realize that when they're ready, they're ready.

I had the same probem with my son. Naked=no accidents, diaper/underwear=accidents. It finally just clicked with him. Sorry to say it wasn't anything we did as parents.

I did the whole going naked thing with my daughter for a couple of months. It did seem like forever, but one day it just clicked! Stay consistent with the incentives and rewards. Don't give up. He will get it one day and you will reap your reward. With my daughter we had a poster hanging on the wall in front of the potty. We stayed consistent in giving her stickers when she went to the potty. But I found that she was getting a little bored with that so I would in addition to the stickers, give her a skittle. Then sometimes I would offer her a sticker and an M&M. So it was like a little surprise. She knew she would always get her sticker and then a little something extra. Good luck and hang in there!!
