Do what "everyone" and daddy does if it works for them. Consistency wherever she goes. Or keep her in diapers until she's ready to be trained.

2 is really young to be training. In my child care center I didn't even have a bathroom in my 2 year old room. She's young and not in control of those body parts yet.

Do they take her to the potty every so often? If someone takes her to the potty every hour then there is a chance she'll only pee in the potty.

I do wonder if they're just telling you the truth. I say this because 2 is really young to be able to consistently use the potty all day.

How have you been training her? Are you just expecting her to know to use the potty? Perhaps others are doing things differently than you. Have you asked them what they're doing and why they say she always goes in the potty. Note: I really doubt that she stays dry all day with anyone.

I was with my 2 yo granddaughter all afternoon today and she wet her diaper 3 times in about 3 hours. She does sometimes take off her diaper and run to sit on the potty because it's fun but she doesn't actually pee in the potty yet.

Here is a web site that lists the indicators of readiness to potty train. Take a look at it and see if your 2 yo is actually ready to train.

Hi there L.,
I have the same issue. Even when my daughter was "2" (which was all the way up until she was actually 3 for those who forget!) she was having accidents only at home. She is now 3 years and barely one month and yesterday was the first time in a long time that we had no accidents at home or daycare so I certainly understand. For us, I could be home all day with her (I am a FT working mom) and have no problems but when Daddy got home accidents happened and vice versa (no she isn't afraid of her Dad for those who want to make that generalization!!!) We have gone back and forth with putting her ont he potty every 30 minutes to letting her tell us when she has to go. each has had success, none of them are perfect. We have just come to accept that sometimes she will be right on the money, other times not so much. I think practicing patience will help and if you child is closer to actually being 2, than 3, you may want to ease it back a bit and let her get better prepared on her own. This part stinks, no doubt.... we just have to forge ahead and know it will get better! Hang in there L.!
