Looking for suggestions on the best potty chair for a boy? My son is very tall for his ago, so need one that will be comfortable for him. When my oldest was training, the one we used than had a removable splash guard that ALWAYS pinched him, so looking for a pain free one! :) Don't really want to spend the extra money on crazy noises, just looking for your basic potty chair.

Thanks for your ideas!

We used the Fisher-Price chair shaped like a frog.

My son is very tall too and we had problems finding a chair that would fit. He was able to sit on that potty chair. Good luck!!

Wondering if ANYONE uses those splash guards! LOL

Go right to a ring for the toilet seat...let him sit backwards--they feel more secure that way--they can lean on the tank!

how about skipping the potty chair and getting a seat that hooks to your toilet? i got the baby bjorn toilet trainer and i LOVE it. its so much more stable and comfortable than the cheaper ones i bought at target. oh and the splash guard is built in, not two separate pieces so no chance of pinching. i also bought a potty chair but my son never liked it b/c he wanted to use the big toilet like us. :)

I got a Fisher Price musical one, I know you didn't want noise, and it did have a built in guard. It seemed to be the only one with room for a larger child though so just saying it did work for a child who needed that room to 'fit' on it. Some kids, maybe not your son, but some are afraid to sit on the big stool right off but it doesn't take long until most will sit on it.

I second the Baby Bjorn seat! We tried a potty chair but he wanted to use the toilet like we did. We had one Baby Bjorn and another with teh removable splash guard that never seemed to work well. So we now have 2 Baby Bjorns for our house and they are great!

I have both the Froggy potty and the baby Bjorn. We prefer the Frog potty and it's cheaper :)

baby bjorn is great for boys. Either the potty chair or toilet insert since the splash guard is a solid built in piece.

Instead of a potty chair, why not buy a nice stool with his name engraved on it for him to stand on and use the big toliet. The stool you can use for years to come. Our daughter did not use a potty chair, we bought a potty seat that goes over the toilet. It folds us for traveling nicely as well. Here's the link for it http://www.toysrus.com/search/index.jsp?kwCatId=&kw=p....

As Teresa said, the Fisher Price Precious Planet Froggy Potty is fantastic, accommodates taller children and the front is made high with no need for a splash guard so no pinching, the design is great, the plastic is smooth. Basic and not expensive, you can find them at Walmart, Target or Amazon.com for $12.
