I have an almost 16-month-old and I am due with my second in just a week and a half. I had just gotten to my goal weight from my first pregnancy when I found out that I was pregnant with my second (kind of a bittersweet moment... so excited to be pregnant again, but sad that the weight would start coming right away...). I like workouts like P90X becuase they are challenging and really do work me out. However, all you moms out there know there are not many days that you have an extra 1.5-2 hours to workout. Any sugestions of quick, effective home workouts? I have been looking at Lindsay Brinn's Postnatal Bootcamp. It sounds like a good one from the reviews. Any experience with these? Is the first or second better, and do you need to get the Core Workout as well? What sort of equipment is needed? Thanks for the help!

What can I do next?

I have the best result with eating REALLY GOOD and doing Billy Blanks Tae Bo. He has 30 minute work out videos that I do every other day. I also switch it up with the Total Gym. My goal is to do some sort of work out every day, even if it's for 15 minutes and working your core is VERY important.

I have the P90X system too and a lot of those videos are only 30 minutes.

Good luck!

I loved Jillian Michael's 30 day shred. A coworker recommended it- she had done it daily and lost a ton of weight. I integrated those workouts a couple times a week with other workouts (biking, going to the gym, etc) and it has helped. They are super challenging and are less than 30 minutes from warm up to cool down. You do need a set of weights though.

I LOVE Lindsay Brin's Postnatal Bootcamp! I have both her first and second versions. I like the second one because it's easier to use from a DVD standpoint -- better organized, but otherwise, you get great workouts from either one. I'm not very coordinated and can do her routines, not to mention get it done in less than 1/2 hour. I noticed results pretty quickly, too. She recently had her third child, so she really gets which areas women want to target.

You'll want to have some free weights -- around 2.5 lbs. and 5 lbs to start. They're pretty cheap and I've even found them at Target.

Erin O'Brien's Postnatal Rescue is great! No equipment needed, only 10-15 minutes per workout and you can start soon after delivery. Best wishes on the birth of your baby. Try to rest now--you'll be busy for a while. I know because my last 2 are 20 month apart and although they are great playmates, I'm still tired even 18 months after giving birth. Nurse Midwife Mom
