It has been 6 weeks, 2 days since I got my Mirena out. I did have some slight spotting the few days following my Mirena removal. This past thursday I had a BM and saw a little bit of red when I wiped...but nothing else at all! I did take a prego test and it was negative. I don't feel pregnant at all....we are not trying to get pregnant at the moment. Is this normal? How long will it take to get my period...or was that little tiny bit the other day my period?

What can I do next?

Only time will tell-medicine is not !00%-it is impossible to tell what is normal-just take care of yourself, in every way, and nature will work.

I had a period, or so I thought, a few days, maybe a week after I got the Mirena out. It was pretty light and not that much. But then I had another period, for reals, about 2 weeks later. So the same thing may happen to you. You can get pregnant right away (although I doubt you are already) so use a back-up method if you're not trying!

Editing my first answer... I completely misread your question. Sorry! I think I had the same issue when my Mirena was removed, I remember taking pregnancy tests for awhile, as there was no period. Because I was always irregular, I'm used to not knowing when to expect my period. It eventually did come, but it was more than a couple of months after.

Funny how you say you don't feel pregnant at all. I finally realized I might be pregnant after removing the Mirena when my husband asked, "Are your boobs getting bigger?" I ran out and got the pregnancy test, and there it was. :)

You could get your period at any time or ovulate at any time and then get your period, so make really, really certain that you're using back-up birth control if you're not trying to get pregnant.

It can take a few more months until your body regulates itself again. I wouldn't worry at all. Spotting is normal after and I would just check in with your doctor if it doesn't come in another 2 months or so. Good luck!

When I got mine removed, it took about eight weeks for my period to return. It's been almost two years and it hasn't come back since, but that's because I got pregnant the next cycle ;-)
