I think that leg lowers are really great for that lower abdomen-- you lie on your back and raise your feet into the air with legs straight out and then lower slowly-- quick and free-- but not necessarily easy. Good luck.

Hello ladies. I had the great pleasure of gaining 54 pounds during my pregnancy, going from 130 to 184. I had my son two months ago and am at 164 now. I know it will take some time to get it all off but does anyone know any good exercises for getting rid of the 'pooch'? Normal sit-ups and crunches didn't really work on that before I got pregnant so I was wondering if there was anything different that I could try at home with no gym equipment. Thanks.

I have a couple good "pooch" busting exercises. I teach baby boot camp classes in S. Charlotte. We specifically target this area. Anyhow, try the Tupler technique. You have to work your transverse abs in order to pull that pooch back in. These are exercises that you can do anywhere! Here is the link that explains how to do them. There are a lot of other good workout tips for new moms on the Baby Boot Camp website as well.

Know the feeling. I was always a size 2. I went from 105 to 155 with my son, then dropped 15 lbs only to find out I was pregnant again when he was 5 months old. Then gained 25 lbs with my daughter. After her I could not get below 140 and I am only a little over 5 feet tall.
The only thing that worked for me is exercise. I tried Weight watchers and I did lose 20 lbs but as soon as I started Lucille Roberts (in NY) and did step aerobics, I dropped sizes in less than a month. And I was only going 2 x a week in the beginning. Well, I felt really good going back to my OBGYN when he said I would never take off the weight. I got down to 112 and a size 2 again! Never thought that would happen.
They also say it takes 1-2 years to get the baby weight off. I think you are beating yourself over the head. You are young so it should be easier.
Good luck!
I had my first baby almost 10 weeks ago...I put on 52 pounds during pregnancy and have lost about 30 of it. Unfortunately, the other 20 just doesn't want to come off. I just started Pilates (using the Winsor video at home) today, because that has worked really well for me in the past, and I'm going to try to do her 20 min. workout every day for a month and see what happens. I highly recommend Winsor Pilates - it has always been great for me. It is hard at first but after about a week, it will get much much easier!
