Post-Mirena Removal--Cycle Out of Whack?!

Hi Mamas!

I was on the Mirena for a year and a half. I loved it! I had 3 day long, super light periods. I still had one though. Every 4 weeks, without fail I got my period. I had it removed almost 4 weeks ago. I'd had my period a week before I got it removed. Therefore, I should have started last week. Any of you mamas out there that were on the Mirena and still had regular periods while being on it--did they stay regular after the removal of your IUD or did they become irregular? Thanks for any input!

What can I do next?

I had regular VERY light, short periods while on Mirena for a year and a half. They were regular after I had it removed, too. If I remember correctly it took a month or so to get back to "normal". I could tell you the exact day and time I would start to flow before, during, and after Mirena. I think that your body is just trying to adjust to the lack of hormones.

I will tell you this, though, post Mirena periods were HORRIBLE for me at first. I am not sure if I just didn't remember what periods felt like after being pregnant, but OWIE! They hurt really bad at first and were VERY, VERY heavy.

I would wait a couple more weeks. I bet it will show up and things will get back to normal. Unless you think that you might be pregnant!

Mine went a little whack after removal. Took a couple months but I am now back on schedule. I've been on birth control or pregnant for so long that I don't know what my normal was before. But I am pretty happy with what normal is for me now.

Give it a month or two.

Mine were a little whack for the first few weeks/month or so with a lot of irregular bleeding, but then they evened out and I went back to predictable periods...although they were much heavier and longer, which is to be expected, than when I was on the Mirena! :(

J. I hope everybody writes you and tells you all about it. I'm facing the sam except having my replaced later this year. I'm super nervous about the procedure. I don't have periods AT ALL!!
