Post C-section

My sister-in-law just had her baby. She ended up having a c-section and I was wondering what could be helpful to her in her recovery. With my own 2 yr old and distance being too far, I am unable to lend a real helping hand but was wondering more along the lines of a gift. Something that may have helped you in any way big or small.
Thanks for your ideas!

In our church, when someone has a new baby meals are made for the family for 1 week. Someone would come and drop one off every afternoon. It was a huge help since I also had a c-section and had a 1 year old and my husband didn't take any time off work. I know distance is an issue for you but maybe you could call some of her friends in her own town and see if that may be an option, or call and offer to pay for them to order in for a few nights?

I think that Belly Bandit was very useful for support. She is in a lot of pain, and it helps take the pressure off.
Also, some dinners delivered so she doesn't have to cook would be sooo nice.
Best!!

I would hire a cleaning lady for her to come a couple times a month, or arrange to have food sent. You're very kind to help. I have a friend who just had a c-section and she's in a lot of pain, also has a toddler to chase around on top of new baby issues. Any help you could offer I'm sure would be much appreciated.

Boppy Pillow, for nursing or holding baby on her lap.
I LOVED my Boppy Pillow.... and even used it to read magazines on my lap.

I had 2 c-sections.

I hope she has someone at home, helping her?
Tell her, not to carry anything heavier than her infant. Post c-section.
Total recovery time is 6 weeks.
Even if she feels better by then, don't strain/lift heavy things. Or the stitches can split.

A gift card for a restaurant the delivers!! That would be great. One less meal for her to have to cook.

You are so kind!!! I'm not sure how much you want to spend, but I agree with Lynsey's post delivered meals or housecleaning services as a fabulous idea! Even though I didnt have C-sections, anytime someone offered a meal or to help with household cleaning, I jumped at the offer, especially with my second delivery (22 month old at home).

If delivered meals isn't quite what you want to do, you could always send a smoked turkey breast or a ham or something from Hickory Farms or the New Braunfels Smokehouse. My sister-in-law sent one after I had a c-section with my twins, and it was a great thing we could all eat, make sandwiches from, etc., and it lasted a few days.
