Positive Test, Negative Test, Empty Sac, Very Confused

I found out 6 days ago that I am pregnant, normal symptoms and of course the
missed period. I tested positive with a faint line and didn't think anything of it because I would be around 5 weeks. Around 4 weeks, I experienced cramping and passed a clear, (empty) fliud filled sac. From my research, it appears to be the gestational sac with out any attached yolk sac. I did not think anything of it ( I was in denial), just thought I was possibly cramping due to implantation and strange discharge. I had my first doctor appointment yesterday and they told me the urine test was negative. They did a blood test and it was negative, just found out today. I have not had any bleeding... I've had minor lower back cramping. I believe I had an Blighted Ovum miscarriage but I thought bleeding is suppose to happen during or after... Still, no period, no nothing. Has anyone experienced this before?

I'm so sorry for your loss. It's very common for women to miscarry before 6 weeks gestation (20-25% research indicates)and your symptoms are not uncommon. You will likely start bleeding within the next week because your uterus will need to shed the lining it had begun to build up to nourish the pregnancy. Sometimes it just takes a few days before your body kicks in. Again, I'm so sorry for your loss. Please take of yourself, rest when tired, eat a balanced diet and seek comfort in friends and family. My first pregnancy turned out to be a blighted ovum. I had a little spotting around 5-6 weeks. We saw the empty sak on the US at about 8 weeks. I had periodic bleeding, but not heavy, for the next two months as I waited for my body to clear this false pregnancy. I ended up finally having a D&C. Then my body quickly returned to normal.

You still might have some bleeding, I don't remember how many weeks it took before I had some bleeding. If you don't soon, or if you experience any other symptoms (I had fairly severe acne, which is not normal for me, and indicated out-of-whack hormones), I would go back to your doctor for an US.

You may have to have an ultrasound to see what's going on. How long has it been since you passes the fluid filled sac?

Give it another few days and see if you start. If not, call the doctor back and see what s/he says.

I'm sorry you're having to deal with this!

*hugs*

I'm so sorry for your loss. With my first pregnancy, I had a positive test, went to the doctor and had a positive test. At around 10 weeks, I had a very small amount of blood, but it concerned me. They did an ultrasound and it revealed two empty sacs. I had to have a D&C. You may want to ask your doctor for an ultrasound just to make sure that everything is fine for you to try to get pregnant again.
