I have a 4 month old daughter, and I sleep her in a onesie. If for whatever reason she ends up sweating in that, I let her sleep in her diaper.
Hi mommies~
Okay, so I know that this is probably the sillest question of all but it is what is causing me the most anxiety...first time mom alert! What does your baby wear to bed? My DD has been wearing a onesie and a zip up warm thing over her...but now she is sweating when I sleep her in this...Spring is here...so, what does a baby sleep in for spring? We normally keep the house about 70-73 at night. Any information would be greatly appreciated!!!

thank you to everyone!!! What great input!

My 7 month old son wears light weight zip up sleepers with the humidifier is running or a short sleeve onsie and sleepy pants with socks.
Don't think that is a silly question, I asked a similiar one a few weeks back.
Also you don't want your little one to sweat in there sleep, and not to scare you but that raises the risk of SIDS.
I love the sleepers w/feet at The Childrens Place. They are light weight and have one zip closure.
We put our 5 month old son in a onesie with a pair of socks. He would sweat through the light weight zipups...sometimes I skip the socks because more than half the time he takes them off somehow while sleeping.
I put my daughter in one of those long sleeved footie snap outfits. Our house is at about the same temp as yours. She wakes up a little warm but I don't want her to get cold arms or legs. I think when it gets really warm during the hot summer I will probably let her sleep in just a onesie and socks. My daughter always has cold arms if we let her sleep in just a onesie now. Just a thought.
My son wears onsies w/light pajama pants or pajama pants and top, light pajama top and bottom. He sweats pretty much and I just check on him to make sure he covered up.
Why don't you just try one piece footie pjs? Worked for me.
My little one is very hot natured so she justsleeps in a onesie.
at 7 months, my son wore sleep sacks. They make the thin cotton ones for the summer and that's what you need. We keep our house a lot warmer than you do (to save on our electric bill), so we would skip the onesie underneath once it got warm enough at night (like it is now).
I could never do the one piece footed PJs because my son had a huge growth spurt from 6mo-18mo and buying one piece footed PJs would've been like flushing money down the toilet every 3-4 weeks. the sleep sacks lasted longer for us.
The grandparents thought we were brutal but we just let Jake sleep in his diaper with a small blanket over him. He used to get so warm and sweat through any onesies, I didn't have to heart to continue to do that to him. Once in a while now I will put him in pjs, but that is only on our rare, cold Texas nights.
Good luck with the first time mom anxiety, we all go through it. Your little girl will live through everything, even if you think you made a mistake. Take care and God bless!
My 8 mo DD wears a light-weight cotton pajama that zips up, like carer's or something. She seems to sleep fine at night. I'll check her before I go to sleep and she is sleeping so sweetly. :-)
This is NOT a silly question, I asked it awhile back! Every night I debate about what to put her in. People say to dress them in what you would feel comfortable in, well I sleep in shorts and a t-shirt, but I have sheets! So I have still been putting her in long sleeve tops and pants, but they are light weight cotton. Or I put her in the footie pjs, This seems to work well for her still. I do think that every baby is different, as far as being more hot or cold natured. It is hard for me because I always sweat when I sleep, so I worry that she will be hot. So far that does not seem to be the case. One thing I have done is evaluate her in the night, touch her hands and head, so far she has not been sweaty, so I figure that she is dressed right. I know I should not rush it, but sometimes I can not wait until she can tell me when she is hot or cold!!
