PMS And Mirena

This is a question for those who currently or have had the Mirena IUD.

I've heard that it can make your period stop, but what about PMS? I have terrible PMS every month, and I swear it's getting worse every year. I'm wondering if it makes that go away too?

And what about weight gain? I am trying to lose weight, and don't want something that will inhibit that.

TIA!

What can I do next?

I had mirena about 6 years ago. It made my period stop for a little while, and then it came back, with a vengeance lol. Ipersonally did not like it, but that's just my opinion. I seemed very cranky all the time.

I love my mirena because my periods are very light. But I do still get PMS.

It did not affect my weight.

Yes I have PMS, but much milder. I've had three for a total of 11 years now. No periods. Love it!

Had it for 5 years (it was the only option medically they would allow me to
have).
Liked it.
Spotted for the first 1-2 mos.
No period.
I didn't think I had pms....looking back....I believe I did just no period.
While it worked for me, I am glad I have it out now.
I say give it a try if, medically, your doctors think it's okay.

P.S. I believe it eventually killed my sex drive. Still hoping to get it back.
