Plugged Pore

My 18 month old has what I think is a clogged pore. It looks like a whitehead, it isn't red or inflammed or seem to bother her. It has been there for over a month. Anyone else had this happen?

What can I do next?

Maybe, I don't really know. Both of my kids had bad skin until they were older. In fact my youngest still has problems with his skin breaking out in the wind or whatever. I'd try a cream. Good luck. I won't worry unless it gets really hard.

My son had the same thing on the corner of his nose. It looked just like a whitehead too. It was there for quite some time and then it just dried up and went away. It was very odd the way it happened. I would not worry too much about it unless it gets bigger or changes shape or color.

Sounds like millia(sp) I get them around my eyes, The derm just told me to exfoliate(sp) and they will go away, but deff. do not pick them. I would see the doc too, just to be safe...or at least call.

Well, hopefully you know better than to hold her down and poke at her! I'd mention it at the next checkup unless it starts to look red/infected or starts to bother her...then have it looked at.

it is probably what they call " baby acne" it just happens then they go away. dont poke at it or try to "pop" it it will create a blackhead and they will have it always. My sister "popped" one on my oldest sons chin and now he gets a huge blackhead there every now and then.

My youngest had this. The worst thing we did was open it! We had to keep opening it to drain it. I am not a "run to the doctor" kind of person but after what happened with my son's...go to the doctor. Make sure you let them know how long it has been there too. We had to post-pone 1 year pictures because it didn't heal fast enough even after we opened it. And holding down a screaming child and poking his face with something sharp is VERY scarey!

I would see a Dr. With the infections going on today, it wouldn't hurt to be sure.

I m not a run to the dr type mom, My little girl got a cold not a bad one so we waited a could of days it seam to go way but them she got a bad rash , We went to the dr to only find out the cold turn in to strep throat and the rash was a symptom. I was once told that if a couch last longer then a week go to the dr. if a fever last more then 24 hours go to the dr and most anything else and it dose clear up with in two week go to the dr.
