The dentist can do WONDERFUL things ... I knocked my two front teeth (perm) out around that age and I have my two front teeth ... you can even see them in my pic ;).
A few minutes ago I went to pick my kids up from school. My 8 yo was playing on the playground while we waited for her older sister. Well, she fell and hit her mouth. Her top two front teeth. The gum above the left front tooth has been busted open and required stitches. The right tooth is the main problem this time. It is bleeding and has been moved. She says it has always been a little loose and it is no more loose now than it was. It is a permanent tooth. Would you call the dentist? Is there anything they can really do? The gums are swollen, but the bleeding has pretty much stopped at this point. What would you do? I find it different dealing with dental issues and just don't know if this is worth a call to see if they can get her in before they close today.
Thanks!
*EDIT* I've called 2 dentists so far and they are already closed. Anyone in the grand prairie/ arlington area have any suggestions of where I can go?
Thanks everyone!!! I wasn't sure if I should take her or not and I appreciate your input...I called insurance and they called around and helped me find a dentist that would see her...Thank goodness. He says we are going to have to give it some time to see what happens but for right now she is okay. He didn't want to manipulate it any because it was already stable. He talked with us on what to look for and how to care for her. Thank you so much!!! Whew, I feel better!

Perla Dental on 303 charges $35 fro an emergenct visit. They may have already taken thier last patient for the day, but would be able to see you tomorrow and probably tell you what to do and what to watch for tonight.
I would call the dentist ASAP. You want to make sure she didnt permenantly injure her tooth.
Call a dentist NOW. Do not wait until Monday.
Just my two cents,
R.
Yes, call your dentist pronto....especially with a permanent tooth.
Call your dentist now! When we were kids my brother was hit by a baseball. The tooth never fell out but all the trauma killed the root. He had to have a root canal when he was 23 and an implant put in to replace the tooth.
If he had gone to a dentist there was a chance the tooth could have been saved.
Call the dentist now before it gets too late and you can't get in.
There are "Emergency Dentists" look one up and CALL!
We are talking about permanent teeth here Mom...
.....If you are anything like me, ya know your not gonna be able to relax until you talk to a Dentist, that's how I am anyway...better safe than sorry, right?!
Tracy K. below hooked you up :)
**Some Hospitals... have a Dental section... and per Emergencies.

OF course I would call the Dentist!
Go to the Dentist
RIGHT NOW.
Just go there, it is an emergency.
I would just drive my kid to the Dentist. Now.
Don't waste time.
If she gets an infection/abscess... that is not good. At all.
Yes call a dentist. My daughter broke her front adult tooth and we took her right away thank god we did cause it was dying. It's really hard for us mothers to know if its actually hurt the tooth or not. I would take her in as an emergency just to be sure. My daughters fake tooth cost alot of money! She has had it redone 5 times.
Good luck I hope her tooth is just fine!
Call her dentist now!
I would call just to make sure that everything is ok.
You need to find a dentist somewhere, fast!
If it was a baby tooth I wouldn't worry, but adult teeth.... I would call.
I would call you, just to make sure.
Hope is nothing bad, poor girl, hope she feels better.
your dentist should have an emergency number!
It can firm up again-but she should be seen-there may be something the dentist can put on to prevent her from using her front teeth-this is so sad-couldn't they do anything for her in the ER?
I would find an ER that deals with dental issues. There are dentists that are on-call - they may be closed so call back and see if they have an on-call dr.
GOOD LUCK!!!
I would try to get her to the dentist asap. I chipped my front top teeth when I was 10 ish. My parents never bothered to do anything about it and I paid for it dearly in my 20's. 3 root canals 2 major gum surgeries a bone graft and then lost 1 of them and now have a bridge. I still have pain every day from all of the stuff I have had done. I expect it could wait until monday but do take her in and have them check it.
